  • why the hell would you rap over this? lol

  • Seriously surprised some dumb rapper hasn't sampled this, all they would have to do is rap.

  • oh, and this is going on my ipod

  • @sunsun410 Where do you download to put on an ipod?

  • @sunsun410 listen to you tube.com just right click on the video and copy url and then paste it to the box in that website

  • jules doesnt have to sing to be awesome. dyaknow he can also play guitar, bass guitar, piano/keyboard, drums and Harmonica?

  • wowww this is really great, i kinda like the whole no vocals... don't eat me for saying that, i think julian's got a great set of pipes.

    thanks for putting this up!

  • wow this is VU's Loaded all the way but even so you can hear their developing sound from this,

  • the Velvet !! ;)

  • for the love of casablancas does anyone know where i can find chords or tab for this song

  • @sentar86 for the love of casablancas hahahahahahah great

  • @squirehorse can you please email me the mp3 version of this? cloud9LMC@aol.com

  • The Strokes or not... Still this sounds amazing!

  • I think this is more of a Television influence. In fact the strokes sound is more noticeable in Television than in The Velvet Underground. Just listen to Ain't That Nothing or Venus or Marquee Moon. Real strokes influence in those songs.

  • @TheAirEnElManana

This song is obviously more influenced by VU. The laid back gritty sound was characteristic of them and this song was clearly going for that. The rhythm track is just the way the Velvet Underground would play it.

  • @TheAirEnElManana i actually read in an interview that they don't like Television..they actually get offended when they get compared to them

  • @bobngo10 really? that's probably cause they've never made anything as good as Marquee Moon. that's as close to a perfect record as can be. what ruins it is verlaine's voice.

  • @MrXxiii idk..it was an interview during theyre really young times, i think theyd change their opinion now.. and yea i kinda agree, i like "torn curtain" but verlaine's voice kinda throws me off a little

  • i;m a real fan

  • @seanjoycey me too ñ_ñ

  • and new york city's very pretty in the night time but oh don't you miss soho

  • man, this has the velvet underground's 'loaded' written all over it. Amazing.

  • I am a huge strokes fan. Have been for years. Have all their albums but i'm just discovering all their demos right now. Today is a good day. Life is made for sweet moments like this.

  • sounds Beatle-yy!! SAWEEEET!

  • sounds like the rolling stones had sex with velvets and this was their illegitamate child, asking people to stroke their velvet stones....

  • it sounds like waiting for my man

  • Nikolai is a God

  • this sounds a bit like "rebel rebel by david bowie" at the begining!

  • Holy shit this sounds like the velvet underground!

  • This IS a Velvet Underground song called Lines on Your Face. But in Lines on Your Face Lou Reed Sings.

  • sounds like the velvet underground, Julians a big fan of their work so it wouldn't surprise me if this was a recording of them dicking about in a studio somewhere.

  • It's really good, whatever it is. I believe it is the strokes. True feel good music.

  • lmao...wow guys.. u dont need the singing to know if its the strokes or not,. its obvious its not them..haha

  • What the hell are you guys complaining about? There should be more instrumental Strokes songs. Not only that, this is just jamming out. Seldomn will someone improvise lyrics for the sake of interrupting a flow in a song..

  • julian was obsessed with the velvets and this sound exactly like it. plus why is everyone getting so defensive because julians not singing? Cant they get some nice jam out sessions? OF course they can. and thats what they did. C'mon people... Think

  • @pillonsin agreed!

  • This song is most certainly the strokes. It's on a cd of rarity collections called "This is it" And it is definitely called the soho shuffle. Do some research for heaves sake.

  • uh.. it could still be the strokes, just throwing this out there

a lot of bands do songs with no vocals

  • however, i would be thrilled if this really were the strokes.

i heard that someone asked a member of the band if this was them and apparently its not... but i honestly have no clue and in all honesty it doesnt sound too much like them

  • i dont really care who this is by- i seriously dig the bass in this song

  • He writes all the songs, doesn't mean he write the vocals first. He can come up with a part without it being vocals...

  • come on its obviously not them , there is not 1 bit of proof or a clue which suggests this. The chords are like soooooooooooooooooooooo predictable .

  • yeah who knows anyway lol. but yeah i don't see why they'd even do instrumentals. and if they did they would obviously be more interesting than this.

  • i love it when a song is predictable!

predictability and catchy-ness usually go together! :)

  • well there is no singing

    so...........

sounds like the Velevt undergorund at the start.

  • It could be anyone at this point...no voice!...come on...has to be someone else.....

  • im not sure if its them cuz theres no singing. but how r u so sure its them?

and y is it called soho shuffle?

  • how do you know, it sounds just like there earlier shit when they were playing at the NYC clubs. Got any proof?and Squirehorse, are you sure this is them? you said you got it from a bootleg cd.

  • the strokes rock!

  • its the strokes, i hear that velvet undergroundish sound. you guys dont know shit, if you guys dont think its the strokes.

  • sorry to let you down, but it's not the strokes - this has been floating around for a while, but - it just isn't true.

  • This is'nt the strokes.

  • what makes you say that?

  • Because it sounds nothing like them. Plus this guy that posted it has no proof it's them.

  • he's got no proof but this sounds a heck of a lot like them.

first of all, it sounds quite elephant song-ish

those sweet ass descending bass fills sound very nikolai-ish

and the guitars seem to be chunking along in the normal "ze strokes" fashion.

i think it sounds like the strokes

  • these videos are ace, is there anywhere i can get the mp3s for the demos and this?

  • this has some sweet bass. go nikolai

  • @bcw3360

    looks like a catch phrase

    go nikolai!!

  • @bcw3360

The crazy thing is, Niko didn't even consider playing the Bass as a profession, until the age of nineteen. In fact, he didn't even learn to play until eighteen. Less than two years before they became international icons. Funny how life turns out.

  • vientos!

  • this sounds very velvet underground-esque.

    i like it!

cant wait until the guys are back

  • wow i want this stuff ( If it really is the Strokes)

  • It is i assure you the strokes, any real fan would spot all their hallmarks. i got it on a strokes rarities disc from a shop in temple bar, Dublin.

  • @squirehorse A real fan knows this and all the other unreleased songs are the best.

  • @squirehorse Nicely Stated.

  • Where the hell did you get this stuff??

hook it up wit them links.

    dont be like that!

    :D

  • WOW; never heard of this one before :D

    Awesome :D
