The problem with that is that you might be using a normal webcam. Inferred ones kinda do a brightness contrast and you get only the fingertips and a small shadow around it

I like the physical design of it with the glass top part extending ... but it leaves me wondering what method you used? FTIR needs the leds shining into the sides LLP needs the lasers on top of the surface... ? and i'm assuming it is optical based on the size... i've just started researching the subject in hopes of building an LLP.. any clarification you might school to me would be appreciated... and as for comments as opposed to questions, i will add... 'this totally rochs! not fake or gay! '

@Lifestoriesification I'd say a DIR table, based on the fact that we can see the edges of his acrylic surface and based on the fact that the photo software seems to be registering the palm of his hand as a touch every time it gets close to the screen.
