Does anyone have video of 1995 Hall of Fame Bowl against Duke? I played in that game and have been looking for some video for years!! Booscrew....HELP!!
I loved Wisconsin fans in 1994, paid $150 for my Rose Bowl tickets, sold them to a Badger fan for $900. Loved those package deals that travel agents sold you guys....WITH NO TICKETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great video. The only thing I remember from the Kentucky loss was the mishandled snap at the end of the game. I also remember being in Minnesota the day they blocked the punt to finish the miracle comeback at the dome. I wasn't at the game, but I remember the shock of Gopher fans. I love the old footage, very nostalgic.
Actually BoosCrew the UK bowl game was the All-American Bowl. Hall of Fame Bowl didn't exist until the 1986 and Tampa Stadium never had astro turf. I actually was UW play against Duke in the HOF bowl before it was changed to the Outback Bowl.
@clipobserver It was the Hall of Fame Classic from 1977 through 1984. The name changed after this game was played. I was there to see them settle for too many field goals including the last one which failed due to a mis-handled snap. Lost 20-19 I do believe.
@BoosCrew Well can't blame them for the last attempt especially for the win just didn't work out. How about that both of us saw UW play a bowl game live. Also that game against Duke was the last HOF bowl before it was renamed the Outback Bowl.
@redduey I'm thinking not Scott Nelson, the famous Sun Praire HS grad, who played on that team but it was Jeff Messenger, a scrappy little cover man who stole that pass to JJ. Stokes in '94.
Also I feel terrible for not knowing who #41 was. I may have been 11 when they played that game in Tokyo but I had a VHS tape of the game that I've watched numerous times. T. Fletcher was an amazing player as was B. Moss... before the drug incident.
I love the Auburn vs. WI bowl game. I remember Barry's quote at the end of the game, "Guess that couldn't handle our team speed?" Calhoun and Brandon Williams ran roughshot all over Auburn that game. One down spot: serious knee injury to Joe Thomas. But hey Thomas is doing alright now a days... aside from playing for the Browns.
That Brandon Williams catch at the dome was STUNNING. Everyone forgets that play because of the blocked punt, but he caught that ball and got face-masked HARDCORE!
#41 - Terrell Fletcher. He had very nearly 1,000 yards in 1993, the year Moss (the first #33 in this video) had 1,500.
Fletcher became the featured back in 1994 with well over 1,000 yards. Then had a nice career with the San Diego Chargers as a 3rd down back before they got that guy, LT.
WOW!!! FOUR AND A HALF MINUTES OF PURE BADGER BLISS!!!!
Thanks for that. So much to love here and if it's sad to have this stuff in your archives I'm in trouble. I have over half of these games too! I really loved the stuff from the Kentucky bowl game which I barely remember and the other older footage. Great runs by #41 who I can't think of right now but also #2 Calhoun showing his big ten speed against the slow SEC Auburn defense! What stereotype?!?! Anyhow this was just what I needed.
Thanks for the comment. #41 = Terrell Fletcher. Other prominent players include Marck Harrison RB #34, Joe Armentrout RB #23, Jeff Howard QB #7, Thad McFadden WR #20, Al Toon WR #87, Craig Raddatz LB #53, Brent Moss RB #33, Darrell Bevell QB #11, Jamar Fletcher CB #2, Wendell Bryant DT #77, Brandon Williams WR #1 and of Course Ron Dayne RB #33. Coaches Dave McClain and Barry Alvarez.
My reactions to those clips can be summed up in one of the three following ways: 1. "I recognize that, but I wasn't born yet." 2. "Dude, I totally saw that live on TV." 3. "I WAS THERE WHEN THAT HAPPENED!"
This is exactly what I needed in my current state of football withdrawal. :) Where did you get the clips?
AWESOME video... kudos! The only thing I would've loved to see was the fumble by Kyle Orton, returned for a TD by Scott Starks. Probably the most amazing turn of events in Badger History! Plus, weren't both teams Top 10 in the country that week!?!? :o)
@schnad That moment still resinates in my mind whenever i think of boiler football.. God.. Orton was a heisman hopeful.. We had gameday.. It was the best fucking day ever.. Then.. Orton decided that the ahh i cant even talk about it fully to this day..
ok now the wisconsin badgers are beast and are in the rose bowl 2 in two years hope they win wait they have to win

@printman90606 That's awesome! Where's that $900 now? Oh, you spent it and it's gone...only money.
But the memories that the Badger's fans got at that game were priceless.
I think you got the raw end of the deal.
