You should check out the new King Kong 360 at Universal Studios Hollywood, even though the new Kong attraction is somewhat short, you really are going to see, smell and feel some crazy shit! Lol!! It's pretty good! I personally think the new King Kong 360 is waaaay better than this old robotic one.

they didnt burn it down it was an accident. but that is one of the only good parts of the tour that burned. i went there yesterday and the studio tour is still pretty good it just doesnt have king kong since he burned.

King Kong has been around longer than the Simpsons, and I'm not talking about the rides either. My parents and I went here in the 90's alot, and I will truly miss this section of the tour and the falling bridge, too.

SIMPSONS ride opened on 5-19-08 in the SAME EXACT BUILDING as the now closed 9-3-07 BACK TO THE FUTURE THE RIDE.

KING KONG built in 1986, & part of the studio TRAM tour, burned to the ground on 6-1-08

KONG was located inside a building on the NEW YORK ST set.

My husband is a tour tram driver, and he has "heard" that KONG will be back as part of the tour, but it might take up to 2 years to rebuild him.

Also, the COLLAPSING BRIDGE will definately be back a part of the tour this AUGUST 2008.

Luckly my family and I went to universal studios before the king kong attraction was burnt down. I felt bad because I was making fun of King Kong. I remember saying, "Hey look, you can fit 2 people per nostril!."

I remember my grandma reading me the news about the first fire that struck the backlot the day after it happened (it was the early 90's). I was upset and vividly remember asking her if King Kong was all right. She said that he was, which I was very happy to hear. Though I've been on the tram tour a countless amount of times - King Kong always brought a smile to my face. Mr. Kong, you (and your banana breath) shall be missed. Thanks for the memories.

The King Kong ride in Universal Studios Orlando Florida was taken down and became the Revenge of the Mummy. (Modelded after the movie "The Mummy") It's sort of like space mountain (an indoor rollercoaster in the dark) but The Mummy goes backwards at some parts and has some pretty cool, and sometimes scary effects.
