I wore out the video of The Wall and replaced it with a DVD, I wore out the vinyl and then wore out the CD too! I have bought The Wall 6 times in total and still love it!
@TheNickyboy225 Yes, it's Bob Hoskins. He was in a British gangster film called The Long Good Friday in 1980, which is very much the basis for his character in this video.
@thelopeisback ORGASM BUTTON?! You need to grow up. I've seen pink floyd live three times now. Still, you seem to think my opinion is null, due to being a floyd fan?
I bought the double vinyl album when it was new in 1979. And here I am, all these years later, still in love with it. Can't wait to see Roger Waters (again) in concert do this in the summer of 2012.
This movie/soundtrack/album is one of mankind's greatest artistic achievements- period. Nothing will ever be the same after one watches and hears this masterpiece ever again.
was still listening to this in 2011, am still listening to this in 2012. And Will Still Be Listening to this on my DeathBed. And Damnit. Ill have it playing at my funeral too xD

@OLawlolawLO I'm sorry for you, my friend. I think this i nearly worse than Hellraiser. Never watch Hellraiser! And keep on playing your guitar, that's really good!!
2 things, first off i never heard the Anybody out there at the start and considering i got head phones on full, the white suite guy actually says "fuck me" when he gets in
Enjoyed watching this. I have shared on our new website called Qtellnet.com ( Social Network ) and also posted on my facebook page You can connect with facebook to Qtellnet and start sharing your videos with new contacts today...
Actually the song is about something that happened to Roger Waters. He was in a lot of stomach pain and a doctor ended up giving him a shot. It was right before a concert. He said it was the longest concert he ever played because his fingers were numb and he didn't feel right the whole time. This song was derived from that.
truly Inspired...all Great Art IS, & the Genius of Roger Waters, et al. is a Great statement about War, both outside & Inside, & Ones personal Story...there are the
Artistes & then there are those parasites around them... Old Story..Great Art of our Generation...i feel so sorry for the Poor Souls that do not understand The Pink Floyd Story/Experience as...Opera...A Charles Dickens Story, Enduring, LEGEND* Immortal...Yo'
I haven't seen the movie, but is that mouse (is it a really big mouse or a rat?) by any chance harold, as mentioned in Bike, sung (and wrote i think) by Syd?
''The child has grown, the dream is gone...'' Fuck, I understand this SO much...what an amazing intense song, well, like every PF song. <3 They are the greatest band that the music industry has ever known (along with Led Zep of course). Those musical genius will never ever be equalled. NEVER.
Try to watch it several times, a day or a week apart. Analyze the lyrics and the many meanings each word has. Great art doesn't tell you things right away because it tries to train you to think in ways you've never done before.
@TacticalTurtleguy You've got to watch the whole The Wall movie to understand it. The main character is a f__ked up guy, singer in a band but with lots of traumas from his childhood (IIWW related), deceptions through his life, depression, drugs... Watch it, man, it's really intense and addictive. WE LOVE IT!!
@docontra666 that would be sid barret the founder of the band. but you probably knew that But with enterview with Daived G it was a outward exspretion of his own sruggle with deppression uesing the old founder Sid To type it off .The song quoteing from David has nothing to do with drugs
@TacticalTurtleguy all the pink floyd albums have a theme. For instance, The Dark Side of the Moon's theme was things that make someone crazy. The Wall's theme was about the emotional wall people build around themselves. Comfortably Numb is how they used drugs to put, for lack of a better phrase, another brick in the wall.
@TacticalTurtleguy Allow me to give you a much better description. The boy represents young roger waters his father was killed during a war. The man ( rock star named Pink) represents roger / syd barrett. Now, as the song was written about a time when roger was in pain and was given drugs before a show and felt like he could barley play because he was so high on painkillers he described the feeling as being "Comfortably Numb"... this would be the beginning of the video. The themes of The Wall
@Spock8000 are all represented here, feelings of Personal Isolation, Overprotective Mothers, Being a Misfit, Having a heart breaking relationship. and so on. The video merely takes all of these themes and backround about the songs origins and visualizes them in the images you see. I hope this was helpful. I am a huge floyd fan and the wall is my favorite piece of music.
Basically.. He's gone mad. The guy in the video is "Pink", the embodiment of Pink floyd if you like, over-dosed and just basically fucking crazy. This is a fantastic experience that you need to watch all the way through to fully appreciate. Its.. Just fantastic.
@TacticalTurtleguy It's about a guy named Pink. Basically all about his life, his troubled childhood where his dad is killed in the war and his mother becomes too over protective of him. And then how the teachers were cruel to him in school. The wall symbolizes how over his life he is slowly closing himself off from reality. Every bad thing to happen to him is another brick in that wall until the wall is completely built around him and he goes basically loses his sanity all together.
@out6of6my6mind Pink ..the character is a composite of all of the band members...but much of it is based on Roger Waters own experiences....it's all about conformity, deception, and being completely alone in your pain even though there are people all about you..isolation and mental anguish...and yes, building up your defenses..a "wall" to keep out the pain.It is a work of genius and nothing else in the genre has ever come close.Waters is a tortured genius in my opinion.
I agree for the most part with what TacticalTurtleguy wrote but ultimatly this songs lyrics are about heroin use/heroin addiction and the lost/broken dreams of childhood.
If you get addicted to heroin your life will eventually go down the toilet along with anything you had aspired to do with it. Many good peoples lives have been destroyed and in many cases ended because of heroin.
Using that shit once is once too many. It's very addictive and hard to get off of.
@acidheadzzzz This movie, is in essential about Roger Waters and the events that shaped his life. Now, Rogers was never really a big drug user, he tried acid and pot, but never heroin. Even if he did use heroin, he never abused heroin. this song's really about is becoming so depressed you completely isolate yourself from the rest of the world. And the part where Pink turns into the monster is about how the music industry shaped into someone that truly wasn't him. Drugsisnt theprobleminthiscase.
