@dantedraco Its because of co-op. The game would have been like this if it was single player but they removed most of the game for co-op. It was all designed to be single player, there was a Tyrant, zombies etc. Sheva was supposed to be a side character. An example of a change for co-op is: In the ruins where that pillar falls and seperates them. Originally, Chris was meant to fall into a tricell facility alone and fight his way out in the darkness. Its all written in the Art of RE5
Anyone else agree that sheva's accent dies down through the game. like at the start im like ''oh god I can't stand this accent'' then later on I can't hear any accent whatsoever.
SCARY??!! I barely thought Resident Evil 4 was scary, but at least there were SOME creepy/scary parts. Calling RE5 "scary" is like saying Dora the Explorer is for adults.
yo can anyone tell me if u can play coop online with ppl is ps3 for re5 and i only played re4,5 re4 was harder and re5 was a bit more easy but re5 is still better for ppl that dont really like scary stuff re4 on the other hand u must protect ashley and fight off hordes of zombies with limited ammo if u dont have enought ammo ur a gonner thats why re5 is better for everyone ^^

@legorocks3 i also think it has to do with the fact that many people played the first games so many years ago that its not scary anymore.for example the first one i played was resident evil 2 in 98 or 99 and i was like 14/15 and it was so scary to me that i couldnt play it much.eventually i did cause i had no other games and it had been borrowed from a friend.its our mind and fears that change through time and then things are not so scary anymore.imagine yourself playing this game 12 years ago
@angelckk1 i think he meant the real old ones like when u can see the whole area from a certain view not like in re4 or 5 plus i played re4 when i was 9 or 10 it was abit scary cuz i didnt know what to do but after a while(like after 2 deaths lol)i got used to it but the real old ones like ya re2 or the other ones were really scary and they were really puzzle games since alot of parts were hard to figure out

really though this game has a few "scary points" like when you first see uroboros and the fucking reapers who ever thought of the reapers should be forced to play superman 64 for all eternity
No Resident Evil 5 wasn't Scary at all, The capcom team lost there self around 5 years ago. I see much Shame in Capcom, there hateful and they make bad games.
You don't have to be obnoxious about it. Some of us like the newer games better, is that such a crime? I mean, I understand that they changed the format alot, and maybe I'd be mad if I had played those games back in the day, but I just happen to like killing monsters more then sneaking past them. Can't we simply agree to disagree and not be at eachothers throats?
We should all be on the same team, the team of 'Resident Evil as the best in survival horror!'
2 and 3 scarred me for LIFE!!!! Res Eve 2 and 3 had huge numbers of the undead and were still about the creepiness that came with them. Also, let's not forget the Tyrants! Mr. X/Tyrant with his smashing through the walls of the Police Station in 2 and Nemesis chasing you throughout most of 3!!! That mess was not for the faint of heart.
I can say one thing about 5 though: Wesker is SO HOT this time!
the only scary thing in this game is when your being chased by those mosters that land a insant kill blow. the big axe dude, chainsaw people, and crocs. besides that, this game aint even scary

hmm RE5 isnt scary at all... not the original zombies that make such strange sounds, with the old resident evils you were 99% of the time in the dark and alone etc... I have RE 5 but I only play the old resident evils...

Oh and RE1_REmake and RE0 are scarier in my opinion...RE5 is just action packed.It has great replayability but it is starting to get boring mentioned above...

re5 = 100% action game / 0% horror, if it were set at night, with less enemies, less weapons, less amunition, more damagae caused by enemies, and if it was solo, then it would have been scary, imagine black zombies in the dark, THAT would have been scary as hell, instead ur just running around in the daylight shooting what appears to be regular ppl who occasionally have aliens coming out of their mouth
I was actually very dissapointed with Resident Evil 5...It was certainly not as scary as Resident Evil 4...There are very few parts of the game where you feel helpless and useless, because there's just WAY too much ammo to pick up everywhere. I'm not saying the game sucked, but I'm saying that it was not very frightening at all...
this games file size is huge (7.13 G), i downloaded it via torrent which took me about 1 week to finish downloading (because of very slow internet connection). and youll need two DVD to burn this game into...
survival can be horrifying. most people wouldnt make it one day on their own without the aid of technology or the safety from dialing 911. being mauled by a wild animal can be a frightening experience. only spoiled and nurtured people wouldnt find survival difficult. thumbs up if you agree.

People tend to rely on technology too much and forget that nature can provide a lot as well, differenciating between poisonous and non-poisonous berries is as simple as letting an animal eat it and wait for 3 days. Tactics are what make survival possible, especially in Resident Evil 5, but tactics and co-operation require brains...which is something a lot of people don't have.
resident evil 5 is scary in the same way predetor is. sure its got some menacing baddies but you never fear for your characters life. the first three resident evils however are too scary for me. every time is sit down to play one i shit out my own spine :/

i liked the co-op. after all, i do enjoy having a human in the same room with me when it comes to multi-player instead of voice through a headset, with consoles anyway, pc not so much...
now RE2, RE3:Nemesis, and the outbreaks.. those are more Scary :D
but i think one of the Factors that made RE5 less scary is that you got a "partner" lol
back in the good ol days when ur all alone and.. a Zombie suddently busts out of a Car with those Bloody Hands and that Sound.. you'd be scared(or a sudden shock atleast :) )

Resident evil 4 and 5 are fun games to play,it's a genre on it's own,it's like what Aliens did to Alien movie,from horror to action but equaly fun in it's own way.Doesnt mean there aren't fun to play!
@undergod97 resident evil 4 was scarier but they took out the scare factor by making ammo easy to get and it was 3 rd person instead of overview. Re6 if they ever make one cause wesker somehow managed to live teh ending will probably be even less scary and somehow manage to be rated T

re5 = 100% action game / 0% horror, if it were set at night, with less enemies, less weapons, less amunition, more damagae caused by enemies, and if it was solo, then it would have been scary, imagine black zombies in the dark, THAT would have been scary as hell, instead ur just running around in the daylight shooting what appears to be regular ppl who occasionally have aliens coming out of their mouth

I was actually very dissapointed with Resident Evil 5...It was certainly not as scary as Resident Evil 4...There are very few parts of the game where you feel helpless and useless, because there's just WAY too much ammo to pick up everywhere. I'm not saying the game sucked, but I'm saying that it was not very frightening at all...

I havn't actually played Resident Evil 5 yet, but from the trailers i have seen, it looks more like an action game.
It does look like a good game, but nothing like the rest of the games from the resident evil series.

survival can be horrifying. most people wouldnt make it one day on their own without the aid of technology or the safety from dialing 911. being mauled by a wild animal can be a frightening experience. only spoiled and nurtured people wouldnt find survival difficult. thumbs up if you agree.

People tend to rely on technology too much and forget that nature can provide a lot as well, differenciating between poisonous and non-poisonous berries is as simple as letting an animal eat it and wait for 3 days. Tactics are what make survival possible, especially in Resident Evil 5, but tactics and co-operation require brains...which is something a lot of people don't have.

resident evil 5 is scary in the same way predetor is. sure its got some menacing baddies but you never fear for your characters life. the first three resident evils however are too scary for me. every time is sit down to play one i shit out my own spine :/

now RE2, RE3:Nemesis, and the outbreaks.. those are more Scary :D
but i think one of the Factors that made RE5 less scary is that you got a "partner" lol
back in the good ol days when ur all alone and.. a Zombie suddently busts out of a Car with those Bloody Hands and that Sound.. you'd be scared(or a sudden shock atleast :) )
Hope RE6 will be scary :)

@undergod97 resident evil 4 was scarier but they took out the scare factor by making ammo easy to get and it was 3 rd person instead of overview. Re6 if they ever make one cause wesker somehow managed to live teh ending will probably be even less scary and somehow manage to be rated T
