i went thru this same stuff up in kenosha, wisconsin, which is about an hour away from chicago, last year. this blizzard was crazyyy. the drift cause snow to be all the way up my garage. took 3 hours to shovel a regular 2 car driveway halfway. then it got plowed.

I hated having a chevy cobalt at the time the traction control was crap and the engine would throttle down in just an inch of snow,.. worse car ever made for winter driving but made it to work that day and home lol.

@valarmanwe awful wasn't the word. it was epic. in the outlying areas of chicago where the wind really rips through, the drifts the next morning were as tall as my house. couldn't get out the side door. as bad as it was, it was still pretty awesome to see the shitty world covered in clean white pure driven snow.

i had a blast during this blizzard, everybody home from work, a bunch of my neighbors came together to help shovel each other out, we had a snowball fight with like 50 people, people standing outside sharing hot chocolate, it was really a nice time

i had thundersnow here in the uk during the bad snow in december.it happened twice in 2 nights.it was weard to see.after that blizzard college was closed for 3 days and i was snowed in for a day or 2

I grew up in Zion and I remember the blizzard of 1979. The 2011 blizzard was way worse than that.
