Do I have to have a modeler for guitar to achieve different effects like overdrive or delay or chorus? Or can I simply hook up the out from my "stage" effects chain (pedal board) to the instrument input?? Thank you! These things look awesome!
@kmacc420 Hi, yes you can use your "stage" effects chain but it won't sound the same as a guitar through an amp. That's really where the modeler does wonders. It adjusts the electricity coming out of your pedals to sound like what an amp does to those signals ... and not just one amp, many of them let you choose from multiple amp options. I've had success with all kinds of modelers AND using tube amps with headphone jacks like the Blackstar HT-1 which is my current favorite.

another quick question, if you don't mind...I wanted to mount the jamhub on the wall vertically as opposed to sitting on a table horizontally. Do you think that this will damage the unit over time? thanks so much.
@guitarbus11 No problem. Keep them coming. Vertical, horizontal, 45 degrees, all will be fine. Even upside down. It's a rugged piece of gear. You should be fine. Send us pictures when you're done. :o) Go to our site and the contact us page and email them to "info-at-JamHub-dot-com".
Thanks so much. One more question - I'm trying to build the wiring into the walls of my jam space. As part of that, I was going to get a USB extension cord for a couple of the Soutmix external remotes. Do you know if the remote Soulmix units work ok if I take them say another 10ft from the base with a USB extension cord? Thanks so much.
@guitarbus11 The SoleMix cables are not USB, they are Display Port cables. If you go to our forum there is a link on where to buy them from a US based company. I've tested them with a 20-foot extension without a problem. Send us a picture of the room when you're done and we'll post it on our website and Facebook page.
@HubHed Thanks so much. I'm thankful to have found this EXCELLENT service... Better than any product musically I have owned! Thanks for making this easy.
@guitarbus11 One more quick question...I was going to mount the jamhub on the wall vertically as opposed to laying it on a flat surface horizontally. Do you think that this may cause any damage to the unit over time? thanks so much.
I just picked up a Tourbus. Just wondering again about a Soulmix and it's purpose. Say I am the keyboard player, and plugged into #2. I then have a Soulmix box on my keyboard. Do I simply plug the headphones into a Soulmix, and then turn up the volume on #2 and adjust the rest of the musicians? So I'm assuming that I'm #2 when using the Soulmix? Thanks.
@guitarbus11 The SoleMix remote is an independent output or listening station. Whatever mix you make in the SoleMix remote is independent of all the other mixes. It is like another section, but without any input capability. Simply plug your keyboard and mic into section #2 and then plug in your SoleMix remote the connect your headphones in the remote and mix away. Keep jamming!
@clemmdrum Hi Clemmdrum, the .wav files are written to an SD card that is removable. You just pop out the SD RAM and pop it onto your computer. It is a stereo recording of the band. A multi-track recorder would have added 2 to 4 times the cost. TourBus has 21 channels of audio so you'd need 21 channels of A2D converters which costs a lot. Just look at the cost of an recorder that can do 16 simultaneous tracks and you'll see what I mean.
@clemmdrum (part two). We have many customers who split their signal before the JamHub and send the signal to their recording IO and use the JamHub to mix the live jam. Then they go and use the DAW to tweak the recordings via individual tracks. That way you can buy the right size (and cost) IO that you need. You might need 8, or 16 instead of 21. I hope that helps!!
Hi, is the analog 1/4 inch jack RECORDING output in stereo on the cheapest model? In other words can I connect to a digital 8-track recorder's stereo analog input (in stereo)? Thanks :)
@MarvinPooper Yes. For all three models the R section has an analog output that is stereo (it can be used for headphones as well) and the GreenRoom adds USB and TourBus has analog, USB and the built in recorder. I hope that helps. And YES, you can connect it to a digital recorder via a stereo cable.
Oh my goooooood the stereos cables need to go into the headphone output... ALL THIS TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!

silly question, but I gotta ask. Can you use XLR and TRS simultaneously?
pmugarura 1 year ago
@pmugarura Good question. Yes you can. That's why there are two trim controls on the left. One for the mic, one for the instrument input.
