you could say this is couture because these are one off garments not for retail. there will be a commecial version of this the shops ferch61. most of the show pieces are by special order only. but of course it does not fall under guidlines of haute couture

it's called demi-couture. he conforms to some of the requirements for couture, but not all of the rigors.

i think mcqueen makes it up as he goes along to be honest and just experiments with what interests him. I think he thinks of the concept or explanation later when he see's all the connections.

i don't know why anyone can not see the reference for the makeup is leigh bowery. the concept for this collection seems very similar to the spring 2010. this is the end of the world and spring is the new world. the garments are obviously inspired by 1950's taloring such as dior and balenciaga. the prints are m c escher. i read this collection was inspired by irving penn photos and recycling.
