Ahh the memories this video brings back of all those race meetings I've participated with the racers dads revving the engines over and over whilst looking meaningfully at the fairings from 8am till warm up begins. Nothing like a ruined nights sleep being stopped by a bit of pointless tinkering.

No, it can idle, he's just warming it up. Two strokes require lots of special care (Probably what four stroke owners would refer to as 'Faffing about'). This seems to be an accepted method of warming a 2t.
