@obsidian408 Glad I am not the only one who thinks that! A friend of mine like the part that came before 2:04, whereas I am incredibly fond of every second after the 2:04 mark.
For some odd reason, my iPod always picks this song on shuffle when I walk past a certain fast food restaurant. Can't listen to it without thinking of fried chicken now. Uuuuuuugh. v_v
By the time 2032 rolls around ( the time that GitS is set in ) I should be about Aramaki's age ( 70's ). I hope I'm half as cool and bad-ass as he is by then.
Can anyone take the first half of this song, up to about 1:51 and somehow work out a longer loop of the dramatic and awesome music prior to the drum-fu?
Yeah...you really gotta admire the character of Aramaki; a wily old bat who's seen enough nastiness to know he's gotta have the best working for him, enough of a diplomat to deal with politicians when he's forced to, and loyal to his people even in the face of Section 9's forced dissolution at the hands of the very people they did their best to protect.
A lot of people associate this kind of music with patriotism and valor, things like that. When I hear it, I think of the truimph of good over evil, and in this case, Aramaki's pursuit of justice over all.
@leatherenthusiast hmm i thought this was first used in the episode where they are in london and aramaki visits his old friend at the wine cellar, and the music was composed to suit the british theme of the background.
Nah man, this song is for short moments of awesomeness like "yeah, we just saved a shitload of people from dying and that's great [frist half of song]. But really, it's just business as usual to us, we gotta be going now (step into cars, drive off) [second half of song]"
I love this song. It's FULL of patriotism and honor. Reminds me of when the US all came together on 9/11 and stood strong and united. If only we could have remained like that.
a racist brainwashed nation bent on exterminating an enemy that didnt exist. as long as the bush administration gave u.s. reason to be scared shitless then yeah, i guess you could say we "came together" if by that you mean shit our pants together and beleived whatever the media told u.s. to beleive. came together my ass, i never saw so much hatred and racism in the history of this country than after 9/11.
