THis is probably the move impressive preformance of the National Anthem at any event. What you don't know(especially at the time of the performance) is that it was PRE-RECORDED the week before the Super Bowl. Whitney admitted it after the game. and it's well documented as a lip-sinc.

It's been almost 20 years. I was in Kuwait, we didn't get to watch this till almost a week later, we had heard that it had been amazing. Finally when we had the chance to watch it, I can't remember a single one of us that didn't cry. I lost 3 close friends a day later but they were proud the day before when the saw this. I remember one of them when he said that this was his superbowl serenade. This meant a lot to all of us back then, and it still does today. It's great to get to see it again.

It's was absolutely live, I was there. She killed it, straight up. That's the best live rendition I've ever heard, bar none. They didn't have the technology back in 1991 to perform with a sync track with a live orchestra. The technology you are speaking of came a good 5-7 years later. She simply walked out there and nailed it. I heard they didn't even fix it in the studio later, it was that good.
