  • I AGREE WITH LORI, AND JOHN LORD IS THE FATHER OF THE HARD ROCK, THE SAME AS BACH IS THE FATHER OF THE MUSIC.

  • I AGREE LORI21929. THE SAME OPINION TO JOHN LORD, BECAUSE I AM A ORGANIST.

  • Good stuff.

  • こんな天才が5人もよく揃ったものだ。神に感謝!

  • Anyone notice the other genius in the room? he's a Mr B as well

  • I`ve got a big smile on my Chevy Chase

  • If I was the producer of this TV rock show, I would just put Statues on the audience seats instead of those horrible zombies!!!

  • The fact that they are not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a fucking travesty.

  • WTF is Ritchie doing at 0:46!

  • Good bet...

  • Fucking awesome, back when England ruled the waves of with Rock.

  • It is as always - virtuosic technique and playing from Ritchie, Jon and Ian Paice

  • 10 people are not speed kings...

  • This video is edited... The real live version was not this good

  • love how he tunes the string @1:09

  • Hey guys, is Blackmore playing Stratocaster here?

  • @LonelyScorpio1000 yes :D

  • Awesome!!

  • This is a simply demostration that the Deep Purple is the best ever band in live. Thanks DP for this!

  • Awesome,so young so good.

  • all people who do not like this video are JUSTIN BIEBER fans. (LOOSERS)

  • gimmicky

  • wow! that speed!!

  • The drummer looks like Ugly Betty!

  • Blackie tries to imitate Wayne Kramer`s stage antics :P

  • @chunter5100 You took the words right out of mouth!

  • the spirit of rock n roll never die

  • Ritchie Blackmore - bald troll.

  • realmente son lo maximo a pesar de taños años son lo maximo .

  • SPEED KING 1970

  • There is only one guitarist in existence. Mr Blackmore

  • blackmore is truly fuckin ace

  • Ladies & gentlemen = = > " Deep Purple"....

  • 1970 prog

  • No maybe people who don't like this song are gay. Or just maybe gays who don't like deep purple, like little boys. So stick to wacking off to Justin Berber. Oh I just can't stand deep purple they just play to fast and loud, and fuck you choir boy.

  • no wait this song is gay too

  • @dragonheadofthewest fail troll.

  • deep purple is gay but this song rocks

  • @dragonheadofthewest Don't act stupid. It makes the rest of us look smarter than we really are.

  • If I could screen like gilliam I'd be singing for a living, instead of cutting meat. Or just maybe I like clowns. Fuck ya barnamem baileys circus is comming to town.

  • Mate..you cant compare Rolling Stones to Deep Purple FFS!

    Both great bands !

  • I used to be a Purple fan in those days upto 1973 or something. They are excellent musicians especially Blackmore, Lord and the drummer.

But they are fokkin boring. Compare this to what The Stones did at the same time!

The Stones had style and were so much more soulful and bluesy. Compare the frontmen. Mick the best frontman ever and Gillan a screaming hysterical clown.

  • I love the stunned audience reaction at the end.

Whenever you see this "shocked look" you know it's gotta be good.

    Imagine that in 1970.

By the look on some people's faces Deep Purple must have just put the fear of Christ into them.

    Shocking, vulgar and utterly fantastic.

British hard rock at its very very best.

    Priceless!

  • re dello speed non della velocita'

  • Awesome!

  • DamI wish I went to one of their concerts. Deep Purple was frickin EXCELLENT! Man, could those boys play!

  • so good its unbelievable

  • Too bad this line up didn't last. Blistering Metal.

  • jon lord's organ solos were the most creative in rock in the 70's.

  • Awesome. Just awesome.. Sometimes you just can't click the LIKE button enough times.

  • In my humble opinion, Ian Paice is the the godfather of modern rock drumming.....he is my favorite drummer of all time.....you just have to listen to him.....I'm not comparing him to Bonham or Keith or Neil or whoever...Matt Sorum said he learned rock drumming by listening to Ian.....his speed, his rhythm, his very 'taste' is incomparable.....,,.

  • @chunter5100 I am a HUGE Bonham fan but I think Paice is a very close second the more I listen to him. He definitley doesn't get the credit he deserves.

  • @chunter5100 i a gree whit you and what you can tell me about blakmore he talent was over past the time, is amazing what he can do whit the guitar just the best forrever

  • @chunter5100 I agree wholeheartedly.Paice is like the Energizer Bunny.Watch their footage from Copenhagen, the Machine Head tour.........my arms get sore just watching him.5 stars! peace!

  • @chunter5100 Right there with ya. Paice has been my favorite drummer of any genre since I first heard him in 1984. Nobody has ever impressed me nearly as much.

  • @chunter5100 Agree.

  • @chunter5100 My grandfather was a very opinionated jazz drummer. He hated rock music and told me so often as a youngster. One day I played him "The Mule" from Made in Japan. His only response was "that boy has done his homework". I never heard him compliment any other rock musician.

  • @chunter5100 Thank you,agreed.....and i am a tough chick to impress. When you LISTEN to R&R bands as a passion,Ian stands out as one of the quickest and consistent drummers.Hes like the energizer bunny,he just keeps going and going...... cheers! littlequeen

  • @ Clocktime 11: Listen again you dickwad... this IS Speedking...

  • TREMENDA ZAPADA ANDALUZA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I'm a guitar man but I have to agree Paice is the man to watch here.

  • classic

  • Ladies and gettlemen. Rock and Roll.

  • this is NOT SPEEDKING

  • hard rock jamming on live tv...a super wank, a captive audience, weird vibe. great to see weird shit like this. thanks for posting!

  • It seems a little cheesy and has not aged well compared to Led Zeppelin , but 100 times better than the bilge people listen to these days.

  • 8 people listen to Justin Bieber...

  • Just watch Ian Paice...thats it..just watch him....

  • Awesome

  • grande lavoro di basso

  • Esa gene deberia de estar flipando con Ritchie y sus extravagancias y se les ve muy atonitos y quietecitos... ahora no hay quien pare con esta música.

  • granada... as in granada, spain?

  • @zonkov88 no, It is part of ITV

  • Arguably the first heavy metal song.

  • @ghostdancer2302 What about "Born to be wild"?

  • @ghostdancer2302 Well, you got thefirst word correct.

  • This absoutley Defines Deep Purple as the Best!!

  • my favorite number 1 IN YOUR FACE video.GOD I LOVE IT!

  • Best band ever !!!

  • @conkark Best band ever? Maybe in 1970? And thats still iffy!!!! Thats o.k I remember my dads first 8-track.

  • @165Garyb no, it is the best band EVER!

  • 2:40 that is an awesome yell or scream or whatever you wanna call it. it just rips

  • @megametalhead66613 Gillan is the man!

  • rock is dead R.I.P.

  • No offense for the Ritchie lovers, but Ritchie!! YOU DO NOT DO THAT WITH A GUITAR!!!

like no one should ever ever steal a rock gods guitar (jimmy pages black beauty custom)

but Ritchie still was talented, I just hate his personality....

  • @ZeppFloydSabbath paige blows

  • @sultanofthesands1 You, sir. Are either dumb, or just straight up real dumb.

  • @sultanofthesands1 You blow. Page, Blackmore, and Iommi (and others) invented the hard rock/early metal sound. They all influenced each other and Page is a straight up guitar god and Blackmore is too. They both kick ass.

  • This is a take with John Glover (B), because John Glover (A) malfunctioned and they had to take him offline.

  • luckily gods live forever...

  • NEED A HAIRDRESSER PLEASE !!!!!! Great performance DEEP ROCK'N 'ROLL !!!

  • I love it....excellent

  • ian paiceds , john lorkey, ian gilllanvo , roger gloverb , richie blackmoregr,

  • its JON Lord not John Lord !!!!

  • STILL KICKS ASS!!

  • Wow, this is yet another exciting Deep Purple performance from the early 70s.

  • MARK II AT IT'S BEST!

  • OMG this is too legend

  • There is nothing wrong with 75 minute keyboard solos.

  • best band in history

  • Smoking hot pure energy!

  • hey

  • Ian Gillan's a very handsome man, if you ever see his face behind all the hair

  • @rollo131

Where and when, ya lucky dog! The Mark II lineup was killer, and it's tough to not listen to them because I hear different little things, with each listen.

Breaking new ground that would last, and breaking a good sweat. It gets no better, IMO.

Do tell of DP show you saw.

  • @KristinCrosby I didn't ever see them live. I wish I had. Maybe around 1973 or so.

  • Ahh, Mr. Blackmore on "stunt" guitar. Paice absolutely killing on drums. Ian Gillan hitting notes/screams that....well, you get it. And to think, I saw this lineup!

  • Can´t believe the audience, those kiddos carried their moms 'n' aunties...! Now I can see why Ritchie seemed so freaked out

  • Ennen vanhaan sitä vaan osattiin ! ! !

  • listen to gillian go!!!! he is like an extra instrument

  • Tutti fruitti

    OOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

  • Unfortunately I couldn't see them in concert back to then , back to theses times , cause I was only 5 years old.

  • because the corporations run everything

  • performance is top notch as usual from DP on those days, but were they playing at a grandma's convention? see the public at the end...

  • fuuccckkkkkkkkk!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    YEAH!!

  • Whoa! That was awesome! Wish the whole song was there. What a BadAss Band!!!

  • A kind-of '50s tribute with referencs to Little Richard and Elvis Presley. Guys could play.

  • This band is so ultra bad-ass!

  • The first song on the first Gillan album with Deep Purple. This song can be said to have started it all...

  • ritchie was a mental performer back then its just a shame now hes become a folk player he has gone mad its like everytime he picks up a strat he hates playing it i dont know why maybe hes given up on rock music

  • I agree that he has changed. I don't know when it happened, but it's a shame!

That said, he is now playing with his wife. He makes money doing it, and he's having a good time (I suppose). I don't have a problem with that.

  • ive seen ritchie play with blackmores night recently but for some reason when someone in the audience shouted out pick up the strat ritchie got pissed off and started playing on his acoustic instead they would be a better band if ritchie would get over all this classical stuff and go back to playing hard rock like back in the day he would still kick ass a master guitarist and a legend

  • Maybe he got pissed because the guy in the audience didn't respect him for what he is currently doing? Sure, it would be great if he would pick up the Strat again and show all the kids how to play Heavy Metal, but he's exploring a different route. A musician should do what he wants to do, not what the crowd wants him to do, and I respect him for that.

  • yeah youre right man its up to ritchie what style of music he wants to play and if he does want a break from heavy metal after all these years he deserves it but it would be great if he got back together with dio or graham bonnet and reformed rainbow that would be a classic band

  • Agreed! :-)

  • @fbendz

  • @shredmaster100

Ritchie's very touchy. He doesn't like people telling him what to do that's why. Once a rebel, always a rebel.

  • I have been listining to Ritchie since 1970's and I have him seen play live. I think he is the best. He is ten years than I am, You never know if he is going to play 30 seconds or 20 minutes and sometimes it will be something you heard before. James

  • yea soo? the music is awesome anyway.

  • I was there that night. It was at the Granada studios in Manchester. It was totally amazing and turned me on to Rock music for life! If you look carefully, the guy in the bright pink shirt at the back is George Best! I think he loved it too. My dad was the producer of the show it was part of a series called Doing their Own Thing.

  • holy shit ur right ive got the dvd of this concert and have never noticed him before but anyway well spotted and by the way deep purple and george best are legends you dont get music like this on tv now im only young but most people my age agree theres nothing going for them music wise today id rather watch a deep purple tribute band than jay z or any of these so called rappers

  • Great song and great band

  • FUCKING AWESOME...!

  • Fucking good

  • This is the fucking rock and roll man !!!!!!

  • Una de mis bandas favoritas de siempre,de mis años de friki en Cuba.

  • why so many old ladies and youngings at this gig? that's just disrespectful to this band.

  • I drive 150 km, pay 60 euro + the parking + one beer for 2.5 euro to enjoy the act LIVE in Belgium. Lotto-arena in Antwerp the even dares to force a stupid cover band like "Vipers" on us!

Do I have to give theyounsters RIGHT when they spend no money at all at cd's and just copy the thing?

Lotto Arena gives me arguments ,anyway!

    Bernard

  • To hell with the trends, to hell with MTV and top-forty radio: they want you to listen to a new band each week then forget about them because they want to sell more T-shirts.

    Good music, lasts forever.

  • @eveningtsar

Good one mate. You got it there. But good music appeals to relatively well-developed and profound personalities. We escaped the consumerist indoctrination.

  • @eveningtsar amen brother !!

  • @eveningtsar hell yeah brother, all we need is to keep that attitude

  • @eveningtsar MTV has music?

  • @eveningtsar right. buy a deep purple shirt and wear it proud and wear it to tatters and then buy another

  • @eveningtsar I don't think I could've said it better.

  • Picture yourself being a teenager on early 70s.This was (is) heavy shit!

  • I remember when the record came out.

  • this guy is a retard , the whole thing was flawless

  • The best band ever at their best !!!

  • If Keyboard players were like jedi, Jon Lord would be Yoda.

  • Well, gaara, let's see what the fuck YOU can do with an instrument.

Jealousy is an ugly thing, and it's clear that you're drowning in it.

Let me guess, you're a fan of modern 'music'?

  • Are you drunk? The keyboard stuff is amazing!

  • dude be more open minded

  • @gaara221212

this is rock history. its like telling that the 2nd WW never existed. go hide under the next rock and listen some "good" new stuff

  • I meant that gaara221212 is a cocksucker.

  • @gaara221212eres un ignorante 1000%

  • Wow, you're really one to talk... You're just learning to play the guitar yourself!

And also, heard the Witchyhound song... And you call THIS a load of garbage? Wow. Disillusioned, much?

  • Whoops, comment was directed entirely at Gaara, not you '49. Stay cool, bro.

    Wow!

    Holy Shit!

PS: Legalize Marijuana and Deep Purple is th best!

  • Worship at the altar of Jon Lord!!!

  • one of my favourite clips - so mind-blowing... send me back to the past please.

  • Jeeez. So much energy. This is rock n frickin roll. Did they stick their fingers in the wall socket just prior to their performance or what?

  • Deep Purple is the best band in the universe.

    Blackmore is god.

    Glover is god.

    Paice is god.

    Lord is god.

    Gillan is god!!!!

  • @irarocker When did you make it across the pond from Ireland?

  • @irarocker When did you make it across the pond from Ireland? Also, I think that you made a slite misscalculation? It appears that you only got 1 out of 5 correct, on youre God analigy. Oh, well. I seem to be having a bit of a problem, with more than one syllable.

  • Thumb UP!

    Fuckin' Wild! Fuckin' Great!

  • drummer is sick

  • Matt You dont have a fukin clue boy
