This is one of the most unsettling things I've seen in a movie. The moment he said "LOOOK AT MEE" I got up in my seat. And then that laugh.... the most disturbing laugh I've ever heard. Did not expect it at all. I was like, "Holy SHIT, this guys acting is phenomenal!".

I was never a fan of Ledger until I saw this movie. He truly deserved his Oscar. He personified what writers like Frank Miller wanted the character to be portrayed on the screen. THE LAUGH however is a clear tribute to the ORIGINAL JOKER Cesar Romero's laugh. Ledger's was just a bit more sinister.

This is one of the first times in any adaptation, that Joker has been shown for the homicidal anarchist psychopath he is. The comic version isn't some goofy clown, he's evil and sadistic to the core. I mean hell, even other villains are afraid of him. "When super-villains want to scare each other, they tell Joker stories"

This is why i love this version of the Joker , cause it does justice to the comic caracter ,unlike Jacks Nicholson's version or Cesar Romero's from the tv series. @the13joker kinda figured that given the name and all. Was a general statement for anyone but in response to what you said. Although Romero's was during a time when they did make him more "silly" during the horrible campy era of Batman when even the comics sucked and in the 80's he did have a mobster feel to him at some point so Nicholson's Joker wasn't too far from the mark for the Joker at that time. Ledger's Joker though definitely takes alot of the original Joker and the modern and makes his

This is one of those scenes that when you see it in the movie theater... it's literally dead silence from the audience afterwards.
