michalikpiotr1 is the cane corso a easy dog to train ?? and are they nice to people and other dogs but can be protective if they are its the dog for me but this tru or false what do you think
@moldorim14 - Yes & no. They are highly intelligent but also stubborn & dominant & therefore need a very "alpha" type owner. Nice to other dogs & people? Yes, like with any breed...if you get lucky on the genetics & then socialize properly then yes. They do have a very strong pray & protection drive, just need to channel it & harness it properly. They are not for either a 1st time dog owner not familiar w/ dominant guardian breeds and/or someone that does not have a LOT of time to train.
@michalikpiotr1 ok thanks for the informaition but i am a wery good trainer and and i walk my dads pit mix kind of like a cane corso and has bin a little of trubble dog but now i have mked him do pretty mutch ignore and hi listen to all of my commands so long it wont come another male but do they need mutch walking and what do you think ill cound handle one??
@moldorim14 I'll be honest with you, they are the most athletic out of the mastiffs. Mine runs 2.5 miles per day 6 days a week with me, then swimms for 30min 2-3 days out of the week, sometimes runs additional 7.5 miles while i bike once a week. And, gets 2-3 short walks each day and dog park for an hour at a time 3-4 times per week and she still acts like thats not enough sometimes. Be prepared to easily spend 2hrs on this dog everyday, this is not a breed you can leave alone.
