LMAO Well, I wasn't world class,but I PR'd just over 56m ( 184 ft - which I did 1st track season after graduating college ) BUT since track season was in the spring. I usually competed Karate tournaments ( point ie think old Karate Kid movie type scoring ) and I knocked a guy out o - u - t - OUT in a tournament "Discus Style" ( a ridge hand to the temple ) at the start of my Jr. year

Great video. I love how every thrower has their own unique technique. It's what works for you. From 7th to 10th grade I learned the textbook techniques and only PR'd at 142-09 in middle school and 136-06 in high school up until this season when I said fuck it and learned my own. there is so much more to throwing the discus than just blocking. its how u get out of the back. the dip of the knee. the arm placement from when u hit the center of the ring. how torqued u are in the center when u land. how strong you are. how long your arms are. how fast you can mover your arm. and how hard you hit the block. there is a reason most guys are 6'6" and over 250lbs. they are all unbeleivably strong and work harder than anyone to get the technique down. this is one of the hardes
