You can also see what makes MJ the greatest ever. 5 games scoring over 55pts. No other player in his era, or the era before has ever done that. Not even Wilt. This is what makes MJ the greatest. He was able to dominate not only in the regular season,...but also in the playoffs. He dominated in this way with and without Scottie.
yes pipen was an incredable player, but no one can deny that jordan was extremely good in every aspect of the game, passing, defending, stealing, shooting and making everything possible to win a game
yes pipen was an incredable player, but no one can deny that jordan was extremely good in every aspect of the game, passing, defending, stealing, shooting and making everything possible to win a game.
i'm not a hater but the bullets should have been a powerhouse. first they dumped scott skiles and traded a pick for mark price who played 7 games and bolted. that pick turned into vitaly potapenko who was drafted 12th before kobe, nash, peja, and j. o'neal. then they traded sheed after one season for rod strickland. when they lost mclivane and picked up ben wallace they would have had the best frontcourt(webb, juwan, sheed, ben, mcheshuran) plus kobe or nash or peja.......wes unseld why???????
@sopa71479 when you have pippen and rodman on you with two legit 7 footers behind them in longley and wennington. how do you not foul out especially at his young age? he was out of control until he got to sacramento. he meshed with the craziest dudes: sprewell, rasheed.
washington had a good team. WSH was one of the hottest teams heading into the playoffs. they really picked things up when Bernie Bickerstaff came in as coach mid-season.
@J742 Really? 42-40 and we got in on the last day beating out Cleveland with a bunch of no names..Wallace was on the team the year before.. We traded him to get Strickland. Sadly this was the best this Howard Webber team did. One playoff run and done..
It's ridiculous how clear Pippen's path was to the basket (before the obvious contact of course). It seemed like no one on Washington knew where the ball was after the block on MJ.
thanks Pippen. I love your Game .The chicago Bulls Miss you and your Fans also .You are one of the best players in the NBA.very spectaculary move ever i see
Pippen's dunk and drive at the end to take the lead and win the game is one of my all time favs yo!!!i'll never 4get watchin that game n being nervous and anxious for the whole game n witnessing that at the end...oh maaaannnnnn!
Man, I loved that Bullets team. then the next year Wes Unseld messes it all. Even Jordan after that series said the Bullets were going to be a great team in a couple years. Then Unseld blows it
4:50 mark pip draws the offensive fould on Howard, imo pippen was the greatest player ever to draw offensive fouls on the open court, without flopping either
i'm sitting here thinking to myself, if you eliminate all of jordan's highlights and only concentrated purely on pippen, you really see how good he really was a basketball player...
he really could do it all and when he took over a game with his all around skills, pip really became 5 players in one...he could rebound, score, get steals, blocks, and defend....shoot, umm, hell da guy could do it all...michael jordan fans should really get witht he program about pippen because he was excellent.
@mazaratialbum Pip was good but his scoring efficiency was horrible. He needed Jordan. Pip never shot close to 50% his entire career. He was not a great offensive player by any stretch. He had good moments, but he needed a better player.
Watching this game I can't help but think of the Lakers getting blown out early by the Rockets in Game 4 and 6 and never being able to recover. The huge difference between the Bulls and Lakers is DEFENSE. When the Bulls got down they could lock in and put the clamps on teams defensively. The Lakers just haven't shown that yet. They have firepower on offense but not defensively which is inexcusable considering their length and athleticism.
Great game. I loved the Bullets team back then. It's a shame that team broke up because they had the talent to be a special team had they stayed together. They gave the Bulls one hell of a run and despite the sweep every game was hard fought.
Jordans stats of 30+ ppg 50% fg 5+ reb 5+ast 2-4stls where rare and nobody before use to be able to come near those type of stats. All of his 30,40,50 and 60 point games with high FG% where rare and couldnt be done by anyone else. There was a big gap between jordan and the rest of the elite players. Today players are matching and putting up jordan type numbers because of the rules. This deminishes jordans skills and athleticism. Alot more unknown factors like the physicality of the game in
jordans playing days goes unknown. Lebron, kobe, wade, and the rest of the players today would no doubt be star players pre99 and have allstar numbers but they wouldnt be reaching jordans level like they are playing today. The rules are the reason they are able to put up jordan like numbers. This deminishes jordans skill level and athletic level and the type of resistance jordan faced. You need to consider all of that when comparing lebron or kobes career numbers to jordan. They stats may look the
same with the 30+ppg and 50% fg but jordan had more substance to his stats. It takes alot less physical skills, basketball skills and takes alot less physical beating on you to put up 30ppg and get 50% from the floor.
compare the championship & playoff teams of the 90's to the teams of today. The lakers, nuggets, rockets, cavs, celtics, magic all of those teams aside from the celtics with a healthy garnet would be bottom seated teams in the 90's. George Karl coach of the nuggets may win a championship this year but hes team is far from the level of talent his 96 sonics team was. The bullets would be a championship team today with that roster, jazz would beat any team today, Pacers, knicks, lakers, portland, etc
i contribute the decline in the quality of the game to the rule shift. The decline in the individual skills of players and the overall fundamentals of the game is due to the rule shift which handicap defenses and promote the dominance of the offensive player. Players today score alot easier and they dont need the physical and skill levels they needed pre 99 to score. Its alot easier to play and be productive today than it was pre 99. It takes less skills and athleticism to score and this
creates lower quality games and lower quality players. The upper echelon players of the 80's and 90's where far more skilled and athletic than the elite players of todays game. They faced a higher resistance and therefore it took more skills and athleticism to score compared to today with defenders not being allowed to use as much being defensively deminished due to the offensively oriented rules.
and to further expound on that the stats being put up like the 30+ppg5+reb5+ast while shooting 50+% use to be admired and a very rare thing to do. Players like kobe, wade and lebron who have alot less skills by doing it today deminishes jordans stats and what he did. It use to be rare and only like 2 players have ever done that getting 30+ 5+ 5+ etc.Jordans stats use to be unique and thats why he was so special and the greatest.Nobody use to be able to put up the numbers he use to put up and in
the times he put them up. Now players who wouldve been just avg star players pre99 are putting up jordan like numbers which deminish that stats of jordan because it takes alot less to achieve great offensive numbers today. Jordan accumulated his offensive stats under the toughest imaginable resistance possible. Leborn wouldnt be a 30 PPG and 50% player pre99 rules. It really pisses be off at the offensive stat hype we are seeing today which deminish the stats of past greats
why do the call wade the flash? he is slow as fuck. Watching he slash is like watching him in slow motion. Its the rules which heighten the abilities of these players. It creates the illusion of players being more athletic. ITs really their ability to more about unimpededly which hypes their offensive production and dominance. Lebon would get clobbered on a regular basis go to the basket in the 80's and 90's. HE wouldnt get the clean shots he gets on the perimeter today and itll be alot harder
getting around players and getting shots off. You definitely wouldnt see 50% and 30ppg from lebron in pre99 rules with his current skill set. He wouldnt get all the easy points he gets on the perimeter and hed me forced to have to get his points in the paint and itll be alot harder getting those points around the paint with the big men being allowed to congest it more and players being allowed to use more body. Hed take more of a beating and be alot less eager to take it to the hole
It's a league built for heaving up 3 ptrs and bad jumpers. I watched a game the other night where a point guard for one team slashed to the basket at least 5 times. He got all the way to the rim and then ran right back out to the perimeter each time. And it wasn't like there was competition in there because the center that was in the lane just stood there as if he didn't know he should have tried to block a shot. In the old NBA they would have at least shot the ball after getting that close
There should be more Muresan footage
