'83...i was the 1 and only driver coming south from the longview curve. i was a mile or so from the crossing when the blast occurred. playing the stereo and cranking the a/c.i was looking at the radio dial when there was a noticable hit to the front of my car. i looked up and saw the most horrific explosion imaginable. doing about 70 on the 1 lane, i passed the only road, and had to back up. i turned right to get away, just as a tank car blew over my head into a stubble field. cop's name ed lohr
