  • i tried killing raistlin, then i took a spell to the knee

  • @jamesisbackdude101 thats what you get for messing with the master :P

  • "if u cling to life you live in fear of death" that is my fav raistlin quote long live raistlin for he is and always will be god among men

  • behind hourglass eyes.

  • Let's be honest, no one, not a single one of us read the books to listen to Tanis or Sturm angst all the time.

  • raist was the strongest charactor in the entire series. i knew that since the day i read about him in book 1 "Autumn twilight" till the day "dragons of the hour glass mage" was released. if anyone deserved to be a god on Krynn it would be Raist

  • Raistlin is sacrificed everything for his one love "Krynn"... He saw gods, goddesses selfish game on it. Play with souls, play with the nature..pain...pain... only pain... Raistlin knew there is no solution except one. Go to source of pain and defeat it... Impossible quest for every living creature... And he did it... He took his and many lost souls revenge from gods and goddesses one by one... But here is the stupid part. Like always Margeret Weiss tried to kill Raistlin's charisma in her books

  • @darkcorsom She didn't want him to become popular. She always pushed Tanis the Loser, Kitiara, drama drama drama... But didn't work... Raistlin became most respectfull character in Krynn... No one can sacrifice everything for bring pure peace on Krynn... Margaret's stupid end after his Greater Power position... Pure evil Takhisis and others can create life on Krynn but Raistlin can't.???? Only primitive woman jealousy... She did it to Haplo (Hell Gates series) too.. Classic Weiss!

  • @darkcorsom What the hell are you talking about? The entire story and group was a dungeon and dragons campaign and all the characters was created by other people. It has nothing to do with "Woman jealousy" I have no idea how you can even think that. Raistlin was a powerful, awesome character. Do you even know what you're asking for? The more powerful an interesting character becomes, the less interesting they become, because then they become awesome for their power not just for being awesome

  • @GedenWilbur I agree Geden

  • @darkcorsom She did it to Master Hugh, Haplo, Raistlin....etc... someone must tell her... please create a character and than SHUT UP old bitch... I am still waiting from AD&D to apologize and fix the Raistlin's chronicles....

  • I liked Raistlin, because his character is more realistic. No one on this earth is as good as some of the characters that are in the book. We are all evil at some point. Sad, but true

  • @hmcgill911

each character had his or her own flaws and most struggles I found were more internal than not. The purest soul of all was Tasslehoff who unlike most of his kind developed an affinity with people of other cultures and races. He developed a compassion towards others than surpassed even the most empathetic of the other races.

  • slmrcs is right. Raistlin doesn't care that people fear or hate him, his younger self might have but after his test he more or less lost all contact with humanity. But on a note on argueing over this, it's hard cause there are more than half a dozen books written by differing authors on raistlins choices and childhood

  • @20MrBigmac The thing is he did care. That is the reason that he sought to become a god. To get back at everyone and everything that had ever wronged him. The love of the power, and that constant dream of the day when he would make those who wronged him call him master were the reasons he never gave up, even when he felt like dying.

  • @20MrBigmac Trust Margret's books for TRH claims she's the only one who can sooth his troubled soul. She knows him better than anyone could ever hope to, and no offense like the prequel "Brothers Majere" was great but a small part of me finds books by anyone but Margret to be very sophisticated fanfics

  • This video should not be done to raistlin. I don't think he'd like it.

  • @slmrcs why do you say that? :)-Mamothain

  • @Mamothain Because he despise pity? :P

  • @GedenWilbur

    Yes, exactly XD

  • @Mamothain I agree...It just doesn't seem like something Raistlin would approve of...

  • Nice video, it would be even better if you changed the version of the song, put the original by The Who on instead of this one.

  • 5 of 5

  • @valimar77 thanks man

  • I love Raistlin. Thanks this video made me cry

  • @AnaChanteraine I take that as a true compliment. Thank you very much

  • @Mamothain You're welcome

  • Add the line:

    &fmt=18

    for improved audio/video quality.

(this works on all 360p youtube videos)

  • @Fedaykin4321 where do i add the line?

  • Raistlin is the shit. Best character in the series, hands down and probably the most important. Behind blue eyes is a perfect song for him, it describes being misunderstood as well as refers to the fact that his eyes were blue before the tests! very cool.

  • @cryptopumkincarver very cool. Thank you

  • i agree with that rait is the most important and the hotest idc wat tika and luranna say and this song matches him perfectly

  • @kirara11194 thank you very much, i worked hard at this video trying to find the right song and pictures to represent his life and struggles. You will note as you watch that the pictures match the words to the song.

  • raist could kick voldemorts ass any day

  • @uzitheklown Yea... Perfect for Raist...

  • @uzitheklown voldemort can not even kill a child, much less turn mountains into dust xD

  • @TheFerrara44 hehe

  • @uzitheklown Except Raistlin is actually interesting. I wonder if Margeret Weis or Tracy Hickman had any idea that Raistlin would become the most beloved character of the Dragonlance books.

  • @uzitheklown and everybody else's too, well, except the bhaal spawn. lol

  • perfect song for Raist

  • it was funny the only people he carred deeply bought was caramon and crysania but he nvr wanted to show it

  • He showed it by giving what of himself he could but would not fake things he was not, both his brother and the "nun" deluded themselves much of the time. In my view at any rate.

  • @SkullCowboy333 very true.!!

  • @Mamothain I am glad I am not alone in my thoughts on the great mage.

  • @SkullCowboy333 In my opinion the best. You do me great honor in liking my video!

  • His is the path that shows how truth has no mercy in it if it be the whole truth. His pain is the price and only having it will tell you if it is worth it.

  • Very true skull, very true.

  • thanks

  • kill that man kill that man what man Ariakas of course and Verminaard stupid fucking religous wanker those muscley gaylord highlords

  • picked on by those wretched skull children at horror school in the Abyss

  • I love this series. And it hits home somewhat, because I've ignored women like Laurana to be with women like Kit and it pretty much turned out the way it did in the series, Good series nonetheless.

  • raistlein is my fav. character for almost the same reason's as zonulti. I also think this song fits him very well.

  • thank you very much :)

  • Raistlin is my favorite character in the books, not just because that he is a mage :), but because of what he has to go through. The emotions that he feels for being deprived of his health and youth just makes me feel sad and i always am supporting him. People just don't understand that his love went to the magic and that is the only thing her really sees that he has as his own. I felt that Raistlin was ripped off in life but i don't think he would of changed it. He gave it all for the magic.

  • @Zonulti I mean he, not her. Sorry, I'm not the best of checking what i type.

  • its ok lol and thank you for the comment

  • amazing this is the song i choosefor him ,rastlin will live forever at least for me!!!!

  • hehe thats awesome

  • @Batblack1985 amen!!!

  • @Batblack1985 Amen again!!!! I fell in love with Raist about 24 years ago, and I still love him!

  • awesome video i love every second of it!

  • thank you very much

  • Poor Raist....I loved him in the books and was mad when I heard that he had to go through the suffering in the Abyss. Awesome video btw.

  • thank you

  • kinda fiting song for raistlin

  • thank you

  • You think if any one ever trusted raistlen to begin with he wouldnt have been so jaded.

  • no dude no, the reasone he's so jaded is for his magic!

  • this is also true

  • i agree. His anger and power came from his frustration at being hated and picked on for being different

  • hmmm.....lol flint....lol is funny tas stole his dagger llol

  • lol in the first book...

    "Besides"..."the dagger was Flint's" lol

  • hehe

  • yup

  • I never really liked Kitiara, and I have no idea why. She's totally the type of tough, sexy warrior I usually enjoy reading about, but I didn't really like her with Tanis and I didn't like her with Dalamar. It's not because she was evil, either, I just never felt a connection with her.

That, and I always kind of liked Laurana (though she was a lot less likeable in the movie), so maybe that was why I never cared for Kit.

    Love the name Kitiara, tho...

  • I couldnt stand laurana and always like kit...... but kits fait was more then i could ask for HAIL SOTH

  • i've only read the Dragonlance Chronicles, but it says Raistlin has golden eyes with hourglass shaped pupils. i think Caramon does have brown eyes. great video, by the way! the song fits perfectly!

  • Prior to the Chronicles, when he was a kid, he had blue eyes.

  • in the soulforge they say that raistlin had blue eyes and that caramon had brown eyes. so are they identical or not? also in legends they say he has brown eyes. wtf is up????!! im confused loll :P

  • This question was raised before. It could be author error, but it could also be because there was freaking TIME TRAVEL in legends. I don't know, maybe that could have an effect?

  • probably:))

  • Raistlen owns all flint was a good guy but sturm was the worst charecter in the group of the companions

  • i disagree. Sturm Brightblade was the very definition of honor. The classic example of selfless nobility, like King Arthur or Aragorn. His personality as a whole is less liked do to his lack of a damaged personality. People tend to draw on what they know; pain, loss, anger, revenge...

Its the same reason why Batman is more liked than superman. People don't want heroes who always do the right thing and never fall, we want someone who we can relate to. Someone who has experienced what we have.

  • I just finished Chronicles for the third time. And Sturm struck me as so much more likeable this last time. I'm not sure why. The pain, the sorrow of his character just really got into my head I guess. I think he is an awesome character.

  • i agree. well said :)

  • That much is true, however, Sturm did have his moments where he simply was the kind of person that nobody could like. Other examples in literature of the kind of person I mean is Galadedrid (Galad) Damodred of the Wheel of Time series. A person that does right all the time by a code of laws is seldom liked by anyone, whether in the world or as an observer. But hey, that doesn't matter that much to the person doing what they feel is right. They are doing this sheerly through need to follow law.

  • Thank you! Sturm was amazing. he stood for everything a warrior should.

  • Sturm is a hipocrite fail

He claims to be a Solamnia Knight when hes not even ordered. When he goes to defend Solamnia he is even called to stop wearing his father's armor because hes not a knight.

He attempts to live the life of his father (a desertor).

Also when all the companions leave Solace, Sturm travels to Solamnia to meet his roots and find his father. Kit goes with him to look for work as a mrcenary.

In that trip he lets Kit charm him and he fucks her, even he knows Tanis loves her.

  • Strum was one of the most honest and pure characters in the series. Sure, his distrust in Raist was unjustified (and wrong), but overall he was one of the characters that fought for truth. Failing once doesn't make you a hypocrite.

The order was corrupt so he tried to fix it (and managed to with his death, and the help of Laurana).

And I cannot imagine it being easy to resist one of the most beautiful/charming/powerful women in the world while she's giving everything she has to seduce you.

  • @brooksy413

    Nicely put, so true

  • @brooksy413 Actually his distrust of Raistlin was vindicated.

I say it again Raistlin was not a hero in the sense that he cared one bit for the welfare of Krynn or its inhabitants...

because he absolutely did not. He had one thin heartstring for Bupu. When he put the dagger to Caramon's throat, it was symbolic of severing that heartstring.

  • @mongoose704 Actually you will remember that raistlin had a heart for all the downtrodden in the world. Originally his goal was to rise up high enough in power to stop the weak from being exploited. But like so many things in life, his lust for power got the better of him, until it became twisted into something he never intended it to be thanks to Fistandantilus. It enabled Caramon to eventually stop him from going through the gate, by appealing to raistlins innate love of his brother.

  • @Mamothain At the end though, there was only a faint heartstring between him and Bupu.

it is made very clear that it wasn't love for his brother that stopped Raistlin, it was Caramon's knowledge of the future that Raistlin's victory would be hollow and empty and Raistlin would waste away for eternity. Prior to knowing the future he was going to kill Caramon but he had to find out why he had that look of pity on him. Raistlin also said he CHOSE his evil path and deeds.

  • @mongoose704 That is a very good point. I will agree with your statement.!

  • @mongoose704 i beg to differ the twins always shared love, as did bupu and raistlin and crysania and raistlin

  • @Mamothain kinda like hitler when he wanted to stick up for the germans then turned into something else curious dont ya think......

  • @brooksy413 However the authors played those two hearstrings for all they could...

    because they are good writers.

Ah Sturm...what a great character who helped to contrast the spiritual vs the religious.

  • @mongoose704 very true

  • @Mamothain Absolutely...

It was the other Knights that were hypocrites and not taking the spirit and principles of the Code to their hearts. Rather they reveled in titles, code, glory, victory, ritual...

    and the spoils of victory.

  • @mongoose704 i will agree with that statement :)

  • Now Kitiara..theres a person alot of people hate..but i dont see why. she brought that extra bit of fire to the books..and that one sex scene between Tanis and Kit..fuck yesh

  • i prefer flint then sturm the raist

  • Fizban is Paladine right?

  • for the people who haven't read it i will neither confirm or deny it. :)

  • ye... raist pwnz.... he is also my second favorite... just between theros ironfeld and vinas solamnus:D

  • Raist! the misunderstood hero! the broody one,the brilliant, the feared, the best damn mage al over Krynn. Not even death beated him...oops! so sorry, did i make a spoiler not using my head?^^

    Best character ever! O_^

  • i totally agree

  • AGREED!

    ~Skry~

  • he is my second fav character after fizban.

  • Fizban was pretty amazing :)

  • True. And he was the mortal incarnation of Paladine so yeah pretty amazing old men :)

  • totally :)

  • LOL way to post a spoiler for anyone who hasn't read the books you dope

I know it was harmless but geez use your head will ya

  • Eh, more silly, unless he was actually acting as the god he was. Other than that...well, it was all I could do to keep from thinking, "Leave him. Let him fireball his way out of a forest or a mountain to get home."

  • damn skippy

  • where did Fizban put his hat anyway? hehhee

  • lol it remains a mystery...hehe :)

  • the twins seres was the best in my opinion. But i love all the books

  • I agree. I'm re-reading War of the Twins now!!

  • me as well :)

  • It's the Legends Trilogy.

  • I've always loved the story of the Majere brothers. Honestly I'm probably more of a Caramon fan, just because of the strength the man has, both in heart and body and I can relate to him. But Raistlin with his mixed love and hate, his drive to rise above his shattered body and claim power is pretty awesome.

  • well said :)

  • I have a question. I have only read a few books of Dragonlance and I thought they were very good. Anyway I heard that Raistlin && most of the other Heroes of the Lance go to the River of Souls? Could someone tell exactly what the River of Souls is? Some kind of death place? And where does The Gray && the Abyss fit in? Yeah, I guess I really don't know much of Krynn's afterlife places. Please explain all this to me. :)

  • Okay, the River of Souls was more of an event than a place. The Gray is something that was never clearly explained to me. The Abyss was the Queen of Darkness's domain, almost like Hell in some religions.

  • The river of souls is an event, that takes place somewhere i will not tell for fear of ruining the story. The Abyss is the oposite of hell. It is where Demons live. Hell is where Devils live, and as for the gray, it is Ravenloft. But they wont say so directly in the book. Any one who knows about Ravenloft will pick up the sudden hints. The gray references to the mists. Ravenloft is where lord Soth was sent, and he took Kitiara with him.

  • Opposite of Hell would heaven or whatever one's religion calls it. Admittedly, if you were going with Chaos/Order leanings, then you might get that, but only on a pure roleplaying game slant. While the Dragonlance world was originally a campaign world, it has since developed into an independant literary world, and as there is no other afterlife really mentioned as a home for demons or devils, whichever, perhaps you could agree that the Abyss was as close to Hell as Dragonlance got?

  • i would agree with that statement!! Very cool. :)

They added the Gray into the story, when people at TSR ( Now Wizards of the Coast), decided to put lord Soth in Ravenloft without asking Weis, or Hickman. Since it was an official decision by TSR, the only thing they could do was ad it into their story. Therefore, the Gray is Ravenloft.

  • That makes a good stream of logic...but what the heck are we doing using logic when explaining a fantasy world?

  • raistlin is badass.. it's too bad they can't make a real movie that really captures his spirit and tells his story. perhaps raistlin is too powerful to be captured by mere words..

  • i agree, although Keifer sutherland did a good voice interpretation of him.

Ive hear that they actually have plans on a live action Dragons of Winter Night.

  • Raistlin is my favorite character in any book. His double sided personality adds a lot of depth to the dragonlance books. His power, wisdom, and the fact he knows what he wants in life encourages me. His magic impresses me, while some may think him cruel, I see him as a hero...just not a common one

  • i definitely agree. As Justarius said to par-Salien in the time of the twins. "Pehaps we all fear and love him because we see a piece of ourselves within him." We've all be picked on and torn down. Raistlin enamors us because he endured what we all endure, but unlike us he did something about it!

  • That was well stated about Raistlin. I am currently beggining to read test of the twins, i just finished War of the Twins last night, did not see the end happenining that way honestly lol

  • Your in for a treat my friend, it gets better...and i encourge you for the sake of your discovery,(when i first read the series it was one of the defining times of my life)to not read any of the other comments on here from me or anyone else, lest it ruin the story for you. It is far to good a story to be told by someone else. You need to experience it for yourself. :)

  • I am so far enjoying it. I do, however, have a question. After the time of the twins series, I do not know which to read next, i heard soulforge, or 2nd generation....I'm lost

  • i would as a rule read 2nd generation, and then Dragons of Summer Flame.

after you are done with that i would then read the soulforged, and then read Brothers in arms.

Dragons of Summer flame carries on the official story after the legends. The soulforged and Brothers in arms tell the early story of Rastlin and Caramon.

After that read the 5th age Trilogy, then

    the War of souls Trilogy.

that is the direct line that i read after the chronicles and legends.

    :)

    have fun

  • The song mix for Ras is good. Good vid. Thanks for the comment too.

  • what if he isn't dead? what if his power concealed him? If he is dead then my his soul rest in peace.

  • he did die, however he escaped being tortured by takhisis. Paladine took his soul and put it in a deep sleep away from where she could reach him. Later, in the chaos war he awakened to help palin his nehpew save the world from chaos, and he even had a chance to apologise to caramon for his past actions. :)

  • Thanks for telling me : )

  • no problem, thats what i do :)

  • Raistlin was one of the most powerfull mages ever lived in the world of Krynn but eventually his ambition killed him... After that Caramon Majere, his twin brother had a broken part of his soul inside him... R.I.P. Raistlin, you've earned it.

  • It's all most like every time you read the books you find something new about Raistlin in some way. raistlin is just full of secrets and power. best Raistlin tribute i have found hear on you tube ever:)

  • thank you :)

  • Aw... poor Raistlin, I love him ^^ This song fits him so well, I think. Awesome job :)

  • thanks

  • haha, i definitely agree! id take raistlin over a baby any time :P

  • Eh, depends on the baby, but anyway, straying from this to a chat, aren't we?

  • yeah but what your not getting is that raistlin grew up with a sickly body. Sometimes when twins are identicle, and i know what im talking about i have cousins that are identicle, one twin will take most of the nutrients in the womb and come out stronger and the other will come out weaker. and often times one will become stronger in build and the other will be thinner and weaker. its a defect of the chromosomes.

  • Correct. That has happened alot. Infact, sometimes, one twin and kill the other.

  • : )

  • exerpt the soulforge:

"This boy kept his pale blue eyes level with those of the adult, held them fixed and unwavering on the archmage."

last sentence second paragraph 26th page.

  • one of my favorite lines throughout the hole saga. Well remembered!

    :)

  • gold after the test sorry typo

  • he had blue eyes then gold

blue eyes in the book thats supposed to be chronilogically first

    blue after the test

brown when he traveled back in time

    the gold again

  • Caramon and Raistlin are twins so they both had brown eyes when he went back in time it showed what he looked like before the test.

  • they were twins but they were never identical twins. Also it wasnt his body at the time they saw it, it was a combination of his and fistandilius, note the conflict where he drained fistandilius lifeforce. It is my belief that this(whole eye color thing) was actually an inconsitancy of the authors but either way it can be explained.

  • No they are identical but raistlin is just really frail.

  • Caramon and raistlin were identicle twins. They both had blue eyes and brown hair originally. But raistlin took the test. also the blu eyes and brown hair thing in the legends was due to the fact that raistlin was back in time previous to the test when he got his cursed skin eyes and hair. Therefore his physical body though from the future took on what it would have naturally looked like.

  • there faces looked different

if they were identical twins the authors would have described there faces the same way.

  • Ok.. Caramon was huge, attractive right? So imagine someone sucking every bit of muscle and fat, until there is nothing but bones... That would be Raistlin.

  • lol i always prefered raistlin, in the 3 books where he is going to try to become a god even before he goes back in time, he is not completely skin and bones, and besides he has the cool looking eyes, intensity, and attrative face. i guess i just dont like the big overly bulky guy who will eventually run to fat. /shrug

  • I always thought Raistlin was HOT! lol.

I mean.. he makes evil sexy lol. Sad huh.

    Heather

  • lol

obviously i dont think its sad

    raistlin is hot

  • na its not hewas one of the best of the dragon lancebooks had to offer

  • hmm im not sure i understand what you are saying, but i love the legends trilogy. That being said my favorite two books of DL are Dragons of Winter Night, and Dragons of Summer Flame. i love the soulforged too

  • its cool i was drunk last night i was just saying that was the best guy in the dl books but nice choice on thr books you just siad they where good ones not read them in a very long time now am sure on of them was the ones where they where in port city of tarsis wich had no port and a building fell on them cant remmber wich one though

  • ;) that would be Dragons of Winter Night.

  • aaaaa may thanks i remmber now hehe

  • it says clearly in soulforge that raistlin's hair was more AUBURN and that he had BLUE eyes. they were NOT identical twins.

  • either way..were missing the point. it is a great story, and i for one love it more than i love a lot of things in this life. No exaggeration, i could not love a human baby as much as i love this book series lol

  • i agree lol

  • I love so much dragonlance that I tatooed the battle between Raistlin and Finstandantilus (Raist in my chest, Fistandantilus in my left arm).

Dragonlance is really a part of me.

  • But didn't Raistlin take on Fist's appearence once he went back in time, wouldn't that be why is eyes were brown? I do know that they were Blue before the test.

  • i thought they were brown eyes before the test, but even if they were blue you are correct in a way. It is impossible for raistlin to have looked like fistandantilus because he was a lich and had long since discarded his original body. Raistlin may have taken on a mixture of what he himslef looked like before the test and what Fistandantilus looked like in the body before it aged. They also allude to the fact that it was a disguise so it may very well have been neither and just a random visage.
