Mercedes has been building the Sprinter in Europe since the early 80's. They were brought here when Daimler purchased Chrysler to replace the Dodge RAM van.
23mpg? I've heard they got like 27 mpg and one guy in his 118" wheel base one got like 32mpg. Why do people always under exaggerate? Hell, I don't even trust ANY of the vehicle mpg results the EPA gives out on their website.
@celloprof It all depends on how you drive it. If you accelerate slowly, maintain proper tire pressure, and do not drive at excessive speeds then you can get higher gas miliage. my dad has a 118'' WB Sprinter and he averages around 27 MPG on mixed driving. On the freeway, for example, he sets the cruise control to 100 KPH. When I drive it, I accelerate slowly and also set the cruise to around 60 to 65 MPH. I usually get around 25 MPG mixed use.
@Amar7605 From my point of view, he lied his ass off... with a straight face. 23 to 27 mph is 4 MILES per gallon. 4 times 26gallons thats 104 miles that guy is saying it wont go. If your job is manly driving on the highway then you will get 27mpg. It's not my problem that everyone around me is a bad driver and goes extra slow in the city and extra fast on the highway. I just want to hear accurate MPG estimates, not the flow of traffic estimate crap.
Nice rig indeed, but that goofy vinyl bra on the front looks really lame(and an insult to the design team). At least they could have put a white one on. Looks totally goofy.
True, but Sportsmobile itself started in the early 60s with VW vans and has built Ford and Chevy conversions since then. The Sprinter chasis is a recent addition to the Sportsmobile line.
he wasnt talking about the company he was talking about the van being 20 years old...couldnt give a flying fuck how old the company are the guy states "this van has been built in europe for about 20 years" THE COMMENT IS WRONG SO THERE
the men build it, the woman keeps it clean :D i love society
