@AmeliaJane74 No, not a matter of opinion. The older generations were, as a strict a matter of FACT, meant for the sole purpose of marketing toys to little girls. This is what some people think of FiM as, however it has other motives than simply to sell toys. The older ones simply did not.

It IS an opinion, whether it was solely made to sell childrens toys or not, a lot of people still like it and they have just as much a right to call it a good thing as you do to call FiM a good thing. So, to be perfectly blunt, you'll just have to get over that. If you don't like something, you can just ignore it. Complaining about it won't make it go away.

No, it is not opinion, as I was never expressing an opinion. I'm simply stating, the claims directed toward FiM (Made for little girls for the sole purpose of marketing toys) actually do apply to the rest of MLP, and that the prejudiced haters of it are correct, when directed to the pre-FiM stuff.

@Groudon128 They're better designed, for one. I don't think the older ones are too girly; I just think the newer ones are a lot more aesthetically pleasing. The show is a completely different matter; FiM is just pure awesome in that department.

I see. but I still think people are unaware of just how cool the G1 show was. It is NOT boring like the G3s. And it has quite a number of villains (as in ones who were actually evilly plotting and dangerous), where as fim only had one. Fim is still a lot better than the G3 show, but I like the G1 the most.
