  • My Samsung laptop just done this

  • How do i fix a SONY green screen?

  • How do i fix a SONY green screen?

  • I've been in the repair field since 1983, and it breaks my heart to see companies like Samsung and Gold Star (aka LG) are still selling 5-yr substandard electronics in the marketplace. Usually, anything Samsung or Gold Star that came in for repair went straight to the dumpster. It didn't matter if it was repaired properly or not. That junk would ALWAYS come back with a different problem and angry owners. Too bad the Walmart mentality has killed all of the good manufacturers.

  • I have that same problem on my parents samsung tv my parents blame the ps3 but u need to change the color wheel

  • mines work fine i have it for 5yrs and i havent changed the light or the color whell

  • ANALOG BOARD!!!! just fixed mine 4 now exact same problem

  • ya this has always been a component video bad cable in the past

    double check your video sources

it may also have a bad panel pcb with broken out jacks

  • same problem bro

  • DON'T LET SHAMSUNG SHAMYOU !

  • Green screen issue seems to be less of a problem than some people think...... Try changing your HDMI cable or contacting your cable provider to change your cable box. I had the green screen issue as well however I could play a video game and get sound. I am doing much better now that I know it's not as serious as I thought it could be.

  • these tv's are know for this we came up with a fix for this but youtube wont let me post a link here. do a google search for samsung forum hlr5067w and look for one that takes you to hometheatershack forums samsung

  • this fix seams to fix green screen. it also fixes just the lamp light on the tv flashing then after so long temp/standby light comes on. without the tv fully coming on. I would say your issue the hole time has been the digital board. try the fix. also fixes scrambled looking display. green plaid look. modles hlr4667w hlr5067w hlr5667w hlr6167w all have this issue.

  • wow i have the same freaken problem

  • there is a pretty easy and fast solution...

all what you have to do is, drive with a truck ontop of it.

afterall just buy another one, they are very cheap now days.

    I'm buying one 52" for 80 bucks.

ps. do not get mad .. lol

  • I'v got the same problem, couldnt you fix it?

  • The digital board BP94-0208A was on national backorder, my vacation time was running out, cost of repair was adding up, and the chances of repeat failures was high, so I canceled my order for the digital board and got a refund.

DLP projection TV technology is complex and there are many failure modes (lamp, color wheel, circuit boards, light engine). Median Samsung DLP TV lifespan seems to be less than 5 yrs. LCD technology is taking over. My parents got a Sony Bravia XBR LCD as a replacement.

  • Next I ordered a refurbished "Digital Board", which is not the same as the DMD and not the light engine. This part was on national back order.

    BP94-02084A digital board refurbished $285

The analog board (RCA inputs ) feeds into the digital board (HDMI input) which feeds to the DMD/light engine. I think a digital board fault was causing failure of the analog board, and to correct the problem both boards have to be replaced together.

  • I replaced the "Analog Input Board" because there were brown/burned spots on this board, and the symptoms were consistent. Multiple analog input vid failures, audio ok, menu video ok, PIP (small secondary video channel) ok.

    BP94-02049E analog board $130

Worked great, but after about a day, the TV would shutdown by itself. I read online that the analog and digital input boards (not DMD, not light engine) often need to be replaced together.

  • I have the same problem with my Samsung. Paid $3000, Not even 2 years old & turned green. Menu looks great & audio works just as yours does. What has happened since yours broke? Repair, replace? Did you find anything out? I will never, ever buy another Samsung anything again.

  • I have a Samsung HL-R5067W 50" DLP TV that has the infamous green squares/vertical bars problem on DTV/Component/SVideo inputs. I paid $1600 for this piece of junk 2.5 years ago. I am staying away from Samsung from now on. My last SONY TV lasted over 20 years. Samsung's electronics is definately inferior to Japanese.

  • all you do is unplug the power cord and plug it back in that should do it

  • My Uncle has that tv, I live in Canada though. Not sure if there's a difference between them. But his works great!

  • Gotta go with Sony Bravia XBR 7 baby

    or Pioneer Kuro Elite

  • So why dont you use a different input such as component... Does cable work?

  • whoa no samsung for me.....maybe an aquos? sony?

  • i guess, its always better to give a run test, or bring someone from where you bought the item to fix/ install in your home.

cause most of the time when people complain, the managers always say, well you bought it, you broke it. we have nothing to do about it.

soo my advice, bring some employer guy to your place and install and format the TV and give it a few test

  • if U find a solution can you tell me hoe to do then because I have the same problem. It might be that the graphiccrad is broken ot something.

  • Hi Ronster064 -- I received feedback on AVSforum that it's the analog input board. After removing 25 screws and 15 multi-connectors, I saw two brown areas on the circuit board indicative of overheating. I reinstalled it and it worked great for a day, and died again. Now there's no startup jingle, no menu screens, just a black screen and the overheated areas are larger. I ordered the analog board BP94-02049E for $150 + $50 core from VanceBaldwin. I'll let you know if it solves the problem.

  • Have you found any solutions yet.

I have a Samsung HL-R5067W DLP which was purchased in August of 05. My set does the same thing. Most times it doesn't even turn on.

Is this a hopeless case of being robbed of

$2,300 for a piece of junk.

I believe many people are stuck with a repair bill that is more than what the set is worth.

  • Interestingly, the PIP displays perfectly (RCA analog input or Cable/Air). From what I understand of how PIP works, there's actually two circuits, one for the main picture and one for PIP. So I think it makes sense that the analog board has a bad main picture circuit.

I pulled out the Analog input board of the Samsung HL-R4667W.

    Hurricane2 L64C HLR4266W

    REB No H2Analog V1.2 2005.04.12

    Code No BP41-00214c

    $129.95 online

Anyone know tricks to replacing this board?

  • My parents' Samsung DLP rear projection TV HL-R4667W is about 2.5 years old and has video problems. The TV Guide menu screen, Setup menu screen and audio are perfect. The video from all RCA inputs (Air, DVD, VCR, AV3) are projected as a kermit green screen, green w/ vertical stripes, black screen, occassional flickers of source video, blue screen, blue vertical stripes and rarely magenta screen, green/blue vertical striped screen. Does anybody know what component or circuit failed? Thank you!
