Mike, your damn right! And I'm a conservative independent who supported the pre-emptive Afgan. strike. Even Jimmy Carter is right on Iraq -it was unnecessary. I always hated the fact that Kerry who I have great respect for his front line service in Vietnam did not have the courage to say we needed to get out of Iraq for fear of appearing soft on terrorist losing votes.

Good job Gravel. They were afraid their career would be damaged if they didn't fall in line during the drum beat to war. Those that questioned the war were labeled traitors, in league with Al Qaeda, weak on defense, and a whole host of other foolish labels. They were afraid and did not take a stand like Ron Paul or how you single handedly ended the Vietnam War that ended so many American lives over French Imperialism and nutty domino fear theories.
