@roaddevil76 Mostly All The Chicago Ambulances Don't Have Green Lights On Them, But There Is An Ambulance That Has A Green Light On The Front,

ambulances are better using hi lo siren and yelp or even wail sirens, not q, q's are usefull and good for rescue and fire engine

hahah. everything in chicago has them. from the heavy rescue to the battalion chief cars.

its SO confusing, you can't tell whats coming, unlike most departments

I don't think it really matters that you know what kind of vehicle is coming.. the whole point is public safety - so that others can definitely here you coming. Pull to the right, and stop for whatever emergency vehicle is approaching. :)

True, but in my opinion, a Q just makes it soun like something huge and awkward to quickly drive is coming up on you, so move it, damn you! :p

@ firefightingmash: That's the same problem over here: our very 'good' European Government has stated a law or something that says that every ambulance delivered after a certain date, must have a new siren built in already: somewhere in a few years, the old sirens must be replaced with a new one... to make them more the same to the public: only problem is that when you know an ambulance is approaching, you know it's a smaller vehicle then a firetruck....

ya just about every apparatus from about2002 and up has a EQ2B siren even district cars EMS field Officers, and Buggys

and squad 271. And why do these Chicago ambulances have q on them. i don't even know why the rescue medics in San jose Have q on them,but looks a little bit like 4 inches bigger than the ambulances. The RM's in SJFD also looks like an ambulance. It helps out American Medical Response.
