  • If it would have been a little less foggier, you would have been spotted...

  • That reminded me of the titanic

  • Those weren't 'allies' they were actually Task Force vessels. The ones that can go 5 times faster than you and blow you out of the water. Lol

  • Western approaches were based in liverpool, Thats a big area of operations!

  • I came here in a really bad time. 1 fly. and a lot of Warship :C

  • dude just dude you are the luckiest dude EVAH there are costal guns on the ports so if you get too close to a enemy port they will start firing not to mention 1 billion of fucking destroyers patroling outside of the port really suprised you didnt got shoot be one of them

  • What screen recordering were you using for this vid? Nice video.

  • Do you have any mods loaded onto this? and if you do what mods do you have?

  • The entire Channel fleet was having tea and crumpets at the time of your passage. That's the only possible explanation for why you weren't sunk. XD

  • @Frontier359 J2 keeps a locker full of good luck charms in his personal locker. :)

  • @J2JonJeremy You have a locker, and in that locker, another locker? Full of charms?

    AWESOME!

  • point in time as in "in 10 seconds the enemy is at 1 and your torpedo at your 1. in x seconds they are at 2 and then at 3" so put the numbers over eachother to have a good chance to hit.

if the numbers dont show up check if your locked on the target (scope, uzo) or mess around with the officer face down right and click his options to switch from manual to auto targeting etc...

in manual mode you can even identify the ship yourself and then switch back to the "number auto shot mode" after.

  • blue sound contact= warship. dark contact = merchant.

it has nothing to do with "friendly/hostile. (so you passed alot patrols at the entry of the chanel).

for torpedos: (no idea how much your mods changed it)

the "easy" way to fire them is to lock on a target (scope or uzo) and open the minimap down left and check if you see little numbers (1,2,3).then its on auto mode and you simply put a number of your boat over the same number of the enemy and you probably hit it(its like a point in time)

  • You deserve more subs :D I love your commentary and looking forward to more of this lp and future ones

  • HMS Ark Royal was a carrier, she was sunk by a U-Boat near gibralter. HMS Royal Oak (battleship) was sunk whilst moored in Scapa Flow Naval base.

  • Here's a giant wall of text with some SH5 tips:

Never save+load the middle of battle. All damage will be reset when you reload a game. Never get more than 30km away from a damaged ship. All damage will reset if you get too far away. Stick around until you see it sink. You deck gun becomes more and more useless as the war progresses. More merchants will be packing heat and most convoys will be heavily escorted. Enjoy your "Happy Times" while they last.

  • *You need to decide how many torpedoes/deck gun rounds a target is worth. Do you use 30 shells, or one torpedo? Is it better to use 2 torps, or 1 torp + 5 shells?

*Since you have unlimited fuel turned on for this patrol, you might as well use flank speed all the time for travel.

*You can adjust the maximum time compression values and how often the game kicks you back to 1x time with those +/- controls in the upper right.

*There's a blue "Return to Course" button near your compass at the bottom.

  • *All of those "Submarine Sighted" messages are both annoying, and only just for flavor. When an enemy ship actually does detect you, it will start to zig-zag and also fire on you, if it has weapons. Even if you are inside a ship's visual radius doesn't mean it has detected you. Pay attention to its behavior.

*You can select your deck gun target through your binoculars, UZO, or scopes. Just get a ship in your sights

    and press the spacebar.

    *Good Hunting!

  • Frontier is mostly likely not amused.

  • It was better this time!

But yeah I doubt anyone, except people from Belgium and the Netherlands, can prenounce it.

And yes the Arch Royal is one of the british aircraft carriers.

Its also funny that you passed the English channel without the enemy noticed you. lol

  • Since the mod seems not to work (what a letdown), you may as well keep shooting until the ships sink.
