@kattshitt It doesn't, not really. The grow room most likely gets colder during the winter months of Michigan weather and its easier to bring out the lovely purple in the strain. Most purple won't show up in temperatures over 60F even if it has purple genetics. Some kind of chemical reaction to the chlorophyll breaking in the fall create whats called anthocyanin which is what makes the plant purple.

@iikez2kez the color of the marijuana doesnt reflect a strains potency, the color comes from the genetics from cross breeding or natural strain color, and weather can affect the color, purple weed nearly always comes from a northern climate..and nearly every strain of purple weed has a high thc level, it only takes 20-120milligrams of marijuana to get you a high effect, so regardless of how strong it is or isnt...itll still get you where you wanna be. and its for a good cause.
