The reason why nobody does it is really because of money. Why change codes if you can make more money playing in a certain way. You don't. However, American football has been proven to be the most violent in terms of force many times. The games are designed differently.

The wallabies world cup campaign was hurt by Robbie Deans' (a NZ national who coaches the Wallabies) love affair with quade cooper (from NZ) who was clearly mentally incapable of playing under the circumstances which showed when he had to go off injured and the team sprang to life. Wallabies could've won with a few tweaks and a different coach, any coach.
