  • awful music...

  • In 1987 I got to ride in Jimmy's '49 Merc. The car was housed at the Harrah's Car Museum in Sparks, Nevada. We had travelled many miles to Reno/Sparks (from Montana) to see just that car. I was thrilled when the car's own mechanic released the velvet ropes and said, "C'mon, the boss said I'm supposed to take you for a spin." You could not have wiped the grin off my daughter's and my faces as we tooled around the parking lot, sitting just where Natalie sat...One happy memory, for sure. LS

  • i'm 18 and only JUST took an insight into his whole life, my obsession has only just commenced.

but i kind of wish i hadn't learned about him

sadness and something sinister just washes over me everytime i think about him.

his tragic death is very mysterious...just reading up on the car, i'm positive it was cursed.

what i would do to go back in time and just have one conversation with this man....he had such depth and was utterly fascinating. feel like i have some things in common with him

  • @NickandJoeJismine Cool haha... How about Shrek 1/2/3 ?

  • @SimpletonSerena

  • hey boyo, I thought you were going to fix the hioouse. What page are you on???

  • muy bonita pelicula

    rip james

    rip natalie

    rip sal

  • i think james franco did a good job portraying james dean

  • @Principal4 So do I! He did a heck of a lot better than Casper Van Dien, that's for sure!

  • Is cool as ice a remake of this the two are very mutch alike

  • Agreed that this video kinda misses what's great about the movie: the relationship is a platonic three-way, a "new family" of sorts, and Jim's sole attention to Wood instead of Mineo (who's character is subtly but obviously gay, Dean's own bisexuality notwithstanding) is part of what causes problems at the end. This video celebrates a heterosexual love that's not really in the movie: Jim's problem is that he doesn't want either kind of love to tie him down.

  • When Dean was rubbing the milk bottle against his face, he looked a lot like Heath Ledger there.

  • 3 tragic deaths:

James Dean died in a car accident on September 30, 1955. He was 24 and 8 months old.

Sal Mineo was stabbed to death on February 12, 1976. He was 37 years and 1 month old.

Natalie Wood was pushed off a boat and drowned on November 29, 1981. She was 43 years and 4 months old.

  • @vanessalove182

I would like to add Carole Lombard to that list. She died in plane crash on January 16, 1942. She was 33.

  • @vanessalove182

And let's not forget actor Nick Adams' untimely death in the late 60's. He was found dead at his home. Evidence pointed to a drug overdose (he was taking tranquilizers due to a recent bitter divorce & child custody battle and a career slump) though some think it may have been a suicide. His best friend, fellow actor Robert Conrad, has gone on record as discounting the suicide theory.

  • Way to miss to message behind the movie. If you ever thought love was the central message see what part the love interest plays in the chicken run. She is a lie, a deceptive manipulitive infatuation. His mother made manifest as a youth. But he (the rebel) has a cause, unlike his father.

  • Brad pitt would have made a good Dean but he's too old for the part now. Bet he wishes he was as cool though.

  • Brad is more like Robert Redford.

  • yeah, Rob Pattinson is the only person the right age to be Dean but I dont think Rob wants that kind of attention

I think he just wants to act and be left alone

  • @Mangapulse how about robert pattinson?

  • @madmum23 Robert is not a bad idea. It would be good to see him do something a little rough.

  • @Mangapulse Brad Pitt isnt even half as attractive or cool as James Dean..

  • @iloveoreos15 Amen to that!!!! I was born in the wrong decade.

  • @iloveoreos15 - just what I was going to put! Pitt is a pale immiatation of the the original greatest Jimmy Dean

  • nicely done

  • All the girls wanted Jimmy. How could a gal resist such a handsome, young man like James.

  • @ForgottenSoul700 Thats just physically and mentally impossible.

  • LOVE IT! This movie rules.:)

  • #59 in the AFI's list of greatest American movies of all time. I think it should be near the top ten. I'm watching all the movies in the list in this site:
