I just subscribed to your channel. It is pretty cool. I was born in Wirksworth so any future footage of that area would be interesting. My dad lives in Buxton and that is a beautiful area too. I will definitely be checking out more of your work on the Derbyshire area. Thanks again for posting !
Wow, it's been 10 years since I was back for a visit, I live in the Chicago, USA area. This is the neighborhood that my mom grew up in. My grandmother's house is on Beckingham Way. I have several family members that live in the estate and my uncles own the Kingsway Pub.
I used to haunt those shops as a little boy back in the early 70's. I remember going down to the toy shop to get my Airfix models and army men. There was a Co-op down one end and a chippie down the other. Mushy peas - yes !!
i am from mackworth, live in the usa,was there a reason you turned round in peckham gardens,as that was were i lived till 1976,may be just coincidence,or did you live there after 76 /
Does anyone remember Humbleton Farm or have any pic's of it?
My Grandfather built the Kingsway Estate, his name was Alfred Hodgkinson. His son Maurice married my Mother who lived at 81 Brackensdale Ave, her name is Barbara Hunt.
My Mother & Father lived on Humbleton Farm when they were first married, it would be lovely to get some pic's of it.
We now live in Canada and I love being able to see scenes of Derbyshire.
Hi Rosemary Just read your youtube message yes I remember the farm. I am Pat & Reg Fraser's daughter lived at 79 Brackensdale Ave, played with your Mum, Pat, Jose & George your Great Grandfather used to roll his trouser legs up, put his slippers on his knees and make us all laugh going round the big farm kitchen. He would let us ride back to the farm on the hay cart. Only pic I Have is of "Mama" Hunt & my Mum in our garden. Jo & Mama were the greatest fun loving neighbours. Send email address
Yes Rosemary I remember Humbleton Farm well. No photos though. Also knew your grandfather a little. I was five at the time. Lived at 8 Greenland Ave. Used to play with George Hunt. Bridget lived next to us. Her house stood next to our garage. My mum was district nurse.
Mrs Hunt was the only person able to make ice cream in the area during the war. Do you remember the Clarkes small holding opposite the your house?
I just typed in Humbleton Farm and look what came up !! Thanks for the reminders.
