The point of the Shine Sprites is that the more you have, the less darkness Delfino Plaza has...the land won't be completely bright until you have collected all of the sprites.

Only if you want all the shines, (which I have) and shines aren't important when trying to get to the final boss. You get to the final boss by getting the first 7 shines of each area, not by getting a certain number of shines.

Actually those lil' octorock thingies aren't so annoying... On stage three of Bianco hills, I got upset that I couldn't clean up the goo, so I got one of the birds to shit some goo and I started sliding in it to recreate Petey's gooey wonderland... But that was painfully slow, so I figured out that instead of spraying the octorocks, I could lure them to a place where I hadn't slid. (Wait, what?) The I'd use their puddle (I'd get out of the way before they hit me) and I did it! Then I cleaned it.

Oh, yeah, and after you battle the giantslug thing, you can actually get up to Petey Piranha, and do BOTH LEVELS at once! ... If I hadn't run out of water, I probly could've wall jumped out of the windmill and done the hillside secret, too... And now, I'm stuck at the big gear thing in Hillside secret, and CAN'T GET THROUGH!

Ummm... I dunno about that, I think the models were based of of Super Mario Sunshine, but the gameplay was based of Super Mario 64, the first 3D mario game. However, SMS had it's fair share of influences on Galaxy.

Do you mean on top of the shine GATE? If so, you need to get about 30 shines to get the rocket nozzle, so you can get up there.
