  • Every time I use my indicator, I actually turn my head to see if there's anything there. I don't get why people think it's so hard to do that, and I'm a P-Plater.

  • dude, just tonight i was on my bike, and i was stopped at a red light T intersection. when it went green, i checked my right side (not my left) and sped up to take the corner, but a lady driving a 4x4 full of kids went strait through the red light. luckily i just brushed the speeding machine and swerved into the side lane, but if she was any closer i wouldnt be typing this right now.

    scary stuff

  • I see a few drivers that seem to relish giving me a hard time while I'm on my bike. There are some people that enjoy causing accidents, as long as they do it so they can't get caught. Don't believe me? Move to a metropolis! Happy Independence Day!

  • If I had a truck with 200lb metal bumper, I'd be crashing every 3rd open door. I'm not riding a bike but damn open doors just piss me off... People are dumb and careless...

  • That slogan "Put yourself in their shoes", is applicable almost on everything in life.

  • Great video!

  • This has been the best PSA about motorcycle safety/awareness I've seen. It targets both motorcyclists and the "cagers". Both need to be looking out for each other.

  • ....

  • i've been riding for about 3 years in tassie now. i've been hit by dumbass drivers 3 times. all three w**kers behind the wheel were charged. i try my best to avoid other motorists but they seem to love scaring the shit out of me with their piss poor driving skills. also all 3 of my accidents were in city (Hobart). my advice dont ride in the city, the motorists just dont give a ****!!!

  • I just had a similar accident the other day, other driver pulled out in a T intersection without seeing me and that's how i came down. Just landed face first instead of bouncing and rolling. Wearing all my gear i was able to get up and walk away with just a grazed and bruising to the knee. Accidents happen but sometimes thinking and taking that extra second to look again might just mean someone returns home safe just like they left.

  • I do not like this video! It makes it look like you can cut off a biker and he'll just roll to a stop and get up again. Believe it or not, there are some people that cut off bikers for fun.

  • A TAC commercial where no one died? Wow.

    And just as effective.

  • good video, im sorry to say i understand completely. and anybody else that knows it sucks to get soo used to stupid people, but that dont make it right.

  • wish they would play this in canada.

  • fantastic ad whish we had one like that here in the uk, it may get the message accross.

  • Disgusting yellow paint job on the Diversion the car driver was probably grossed out...Joking aside the rider did an illegal manouvre. In Oz passing on inside is illegal - True ??

  • dynamicribbondevice. You're a fucking twat!

  • What worries me more is the illiterate wankers who drive cars then come in here and post poorly spelt drivel to antagonise motorcyclists, guess what, it won't work.

  • While it is useful for riders to approach every near miss as being their fault in order to improve, it's a stretch to say that every motorcycle accident is the rider's fault.

The ad is good. It shows that what appears to be erratic riding by the rider is in fact the rider practicing good road craft right up until the point where he rode into the blind spot of the car.

While in this case the rider made the mistake of riding in the blind spot, legally the car merged without looking. Dead right?

  • That is the dumbest thing I've read this week, way to go, champion! Clearly you are out of touch with motorcycling and how it is like to try to make your way home among the dumbasses that are somtimes deliberately out to get you. I've seen it from my car and experienced it from my bike. People seem to think you can just manoevre a motorcycle in precarious situations like you would a car, but you just can't. It's physics, not the rider's fault. That and most drivers are blind monkeys.

  • This add is excellent and tells the story as it really is. It also succeeds in depicting who are the real idiots by bringing up comments like this. Congratulations, you have just shown the world that you don't deserve to be allowed on the road.

  • Conversely, why don't you DRIVE as if there is always someone around that you could potentially hit and kill. That way, YOU won't hit anything you're not supposed to.

  • This is why its so important when your driving a car to look in your mirrors! My friend forgot to look in her left mirror once and there was a cyclist there, I know thats differant but its the same sort of point, and bikers should always make sure there seen

  • Don't just use mirrors, turn your head. Indicate, look, then execute the lane change.

  • @Imogen1991 no - don't try to abrogate your responsibility - DRIVERS should make sure they look!

  • you'll always get idiot car and bike drivers, it's just unfortunate that bikers come off alot worse. i'ts not hard to indicate...retards..

They choose to ride becasue like me their fed up of sitting in the shitty traffic.

How many cars do you see with more than one person in them, especially the scum that drive round in rangerovers etc wtf? greedy sodds

  • @skedtm I ride in a Range Rover hehehehe but I'm also a motorcycle rider :)

  • Same thing with bicycle...

  • well from that story i don't see why are cars still allowed on the road 'coz car driver killed bike rider...not the other way around

  • omg why is this add not aired.? well not in the uk anyway? this add is brill amnd gets the point across

    ONE "5" rating.

    Sad.

  • sad indeed :(

very good video... shows how much more intense riding a bike in traffic has to be if one wants to stay alive...

  • Gov only spends money on advertising campaigns that justify ways of making money of motorists. Hence "Speeding" ads will continued to be aired, where as genuine road safety ads such as this will score second priority.
