I enjoyed this video. Men and women can be strong with the help of their individual personalities which can create many unique figures that exist in both fiction and reality. Spider-Man isn't what you call 'manly' but he is still regarded as a popular superhero. As I'm not macho (or feminized) but since I have a smart personality to identity with, I'm an unique character. Both sexes can come in different varieties and still be strong in their own perspective. Anime can teach a thing or two, huh?
Women athletes cannot even hope to compete with men in most sports let alone beat them. I am sorry if this hurts your feelings. It is a cold hard fact.
Feminist are people that want to use gender to try and make them selves look smarter than they really are... They create more problems than they sovle and have in part brought political correctness to the world, PC has made people stupid!
I agree EraTomo...women can be as strong as men...they don't have to turn into full-blown butches to prove that. I believe in equality between the sexes, but I think modern feminism is just plain creepy. There's a reason there are men and women...we certainly don't need all the women transforming themselves into men in order to enjoy equality with them.
There's a line between whats equal, and thats fair. I personally believe that femininity is bullshit. A girl can act however she wants, as can a guy. There's no reason to label an action as girly or manly. :/ I hate how people assume girls have to act a certain way, or guys have to act a certain way. I've always hated being treated like I can't understand some things just because I'm a guy, and from what I know, its much worse for women.
@ProxyPawaa The labeling was handy way back when it was important to make sure jobs got done. It was a lot easier to say "Women handle kids, house, food, and such and men handle providing, protecting, and such" because everyone knew what they had to do to keep the world running. It became a problem when those labels became barriers and it was impossible to step out of them. I don't care about how it's labeled as long as there is no stigma for either gender to do it.
I hadn't even thought about it that way before, the fact is that in todays world, people are expected to follow those labels. :/ I know that as a rather feminine boy growing up I was always left out, wanting to hang with girls, and not quite fitting in with male expectations... If at the very least, those labels weren't as binding as they are today, I suppose I wouldn't mind them as much.
@ProxyPawaa I feel like at the least we're getting there. In my school I know many feminine boys who hang out with both girls and guys. I think with the introduction of homosexuals and the idea that men other than the typical "I am strong and manly" kind of men exist has helped to widen those barriers. We've still got a long way to go, and some places more than others, but I think with time the barriers will fall away, as long as every gets treated with respect.
@NYBaller35 That wouldn't be entirely correct. Its more like I don't believe it impacts you more than your own choices and upbringing. In the end, hormones change things. But it is not the body itself, but others and your own reaction to that body that truly shapes your behavior in my eye. As such, a man can be as girly as he pleases. A woman can be as manly as they please. A weak person can become strong. A smart person can slack and fall behind. People are equal in potential.
When western women realize that they're no longer the dating option for us western men as we date other women from different countries, maybe then they'll be humble.
I just found this vid. I like your argument. I can totally understand why you'd take issue with feminists that would throw the baby (cute hair) with the bathwater (sexist bullshit).
In college I ran into a gang of would be freedom fighters who told me that disney was ruining our young girls; bombarding them with stereotypes that will harm them! I was like, that's weird, my six year old niece loves those flicks and I love watching them with her. Turns out this makes me an evil misogynist...
The ideas you express in this video are in fact feminist ideas.
A large part of feminism is dedicated to the unfair male standard to which women are compared (the male way, of course, is always the "right" way).
Check out Carol Tavris' "The Mismeasure of Woman" for further insight.
Feminism is about choice. It's not about adopting male roles and shaming women who choose not to. Those who say otherwise have been sucked in by an ignorant pop-culture fantasy of what feminism is.
I luv the cookin thing, it's "degradin" 2 women. BS! I'd luv 2 c the radical feminists work a pop. restaurant kitchen on a Sat. nite n the middle of summer, 120 degrees, bustin out ordrs from the moment you clock on til closin. I kept up with the boys & was their =. They didn't give me any crap when I asked 4 help, which was no more than when they had 2 ask. The radicals nvr lastd as waitstaff it was 2 stressful :(. Keep up the vids It's time ppl realiz being a tomboy & girly girl is ok.
lol Every Japanese female character except maybe Sailor Moon is weak as hell and completely useless most of the time. Those things you mention as acting like a "girl" or just female stereotypes. Thats not what being a girl is about. Feminists oppose those ridged stereotypes of Femininity. Being strong does not = man. Crying and cooking does not = female. You should look up why woman are treated like that in anime also. They never had a Feminists movement like we did.
Japan also has a very low % of religious people.. I want to live there :/ And I agree, anough shows like alias where some skinny woman is kicking 4 or 5 guys asses who are like 250+ pounds of muscle. Honeslty, im for equal rights but women are not as strong as men its just biology get over it.
As a former professional cook, only once did I work with a female cook. She was an older woman tho. Young women today, have no idea HOW to cook, why would you want her to cook anyways?! Even in my family, dad cooks, every night pretty much, and brings it to my mom , IN BED! THATS pussy whipped! That will never happen to my brother or I.
this is what im talking about. being a good and strong women does not mean trying to dominate a man or being better than he is. feminist still does not get the point and give themself a bad name. i am a man, and i will always respect the true women.
Copy and paste this video to others to show this women is right! I am glad you post this your strong and your a women and that enough you don't need to bash men down and for that I say good work, same for men but ppl stop forgetting to be what you are and be strong as well it's about having self respect and I think a lot of women are forgetting, you show a lot of points that many need to hear young and old for women keep up the good work!!!!
@hpufo I don't think that they want to be men, not most of them. Because if they were men they would have to be responsible for their actions. They would have no one to blame their problems on. They would have to take care of the other gender instead of berate them. They may have to get jobs doing hard physical labor because no one will listen to their bs. They would have to sign up for selective service. They would have less reproductive rights. They would not get custody of the children
-shrug- I have no preference? Or rather, I'm anti-feminazi. or maybe most points of feminism that aren't fair or are absurd (Who do you think you are, holding the door open for me?!) The fact that they are only pushing for good things for us, and not things like "Let's get women drafted too!" is incredibly annoying. It's either all or nothing, not "Watch us get the good points."
In my experience as an activist, I see more women at men's issues conferences than men - and they're all self-identified feminists.
Many feminists ARE in favor of drafting women, but far more seek to stop drafting altogether. The reasons it's not a hot-button issue are as follows: A) There hasn't been a draft in decades and won't be one anytime soon and B) We choose to concern ourselves with things that affect our daily lives.
Why should feminists have to do the leg-work for both sexes?
@EraTomo Sounds like your a Equity feminist as opposed to radical feminist. The more equity feminists who stand up to the radical feminazis who have completly hijacked your movement, and made it the 'viable' feminism and the accepted feminism in the eyes of society, media, college campuses ( :0 !! ), the more you will be doing you, women and men a big favour. People are fighting radical feminism..and unfortunately because of them, you ALL have been labelled supremist bigots. Take the lable back.
@EraTomo Oh wow. A female who not only likes anime and Japan; but also realizes that a lot of feminists aren't actually out for equality?! I guess there is a tiny bit of hope after all. Too bad the chances of actually meeting someone like you in the USA is slim to none.
@Erduk I do live in the United States. There are a few women who have realized this, but most are very closeted about it just because other women tear their faces off (or because they only talk to other women about it). Although I can see the danger in bringing this up to women unannounced.
Well done. Admittedly I am a beginner when it comes to understanding the details of feminism. But what I see on the immediate surface has always been hostile and uncompromising. And I have nothing to counter with for fear of being labeled "sexist".
I think we need more posts from individuals like yourself to help guys like me express what we are wanting to say on the inside. Thank you.
Ha ha, good vid EraTomo, you make many good points.
Also, the prob isn't your microphone, you just got too close too it thats all. Move the mic about 4 inches away and don't speak directly at it, instead aim your voice over the top, below or to the side.
If you put your hand in front of your mouth and speak you'll feel the small pressure waves hitting it, these are what is causing the rumbles in your audio.
I use mic's every day so thought i'd help ya out a bit.
A game about babies? That sounds a strange one, i'm just trying to think what the mic would be for. Seems ok for making you tube vid's tho.
Anyway, speaking to you form half way round the world in an easterly direction, i'm speaking to you from the future and its late so time for shut down.
You sound clued up in your vid, so keep on being clued up, k.

Otherwise, what man wouldn't want a girl that can kick butt like a girl on his team or in his family.
