i really don't get the hate on vista, i've used it no problems for 3+ years, maybe people annoyed by the UAC?...you can disable it...security? get a third party antivirus and firewall, and there have been patches...compatibility?...the OS shouldn't have to bend to developers' and OEM's needs should be other way around and drivers can update...UI?...people seem to love Windows 7 but much of the UI on 7 is nearly the same...so why the hate???

I can keep going; but hope you will get the idea.

I don't understand the flak Vista got. The only bugs were a couple driver compatibility issues, which Microsoft EXPLICITLY stated; "Hey, this shit is new, so update your softwarez", something like 7 months BEFORE Vista came out. But software companies didn't listen. And most users were too retarded to do simple things like Right-clicking and changing the settings.

Windows 7 is literally just Vista with a different logo. It's the SAME DAMN THING.

People hate vista because it is a poorly written system resource hog of an operating system.

The reason i think people hate Vista is because of the change in interface names and location of things. people like me are so in tune with XP i get lost trying to problem solve on vista. that and when it first came out installing hardware was more then a pain. but if you configure vista down to basics, turn off transparency and the other bonuses, you get a very stable, and an operating system that is incredible at memory management.

I disagree. Vista is built upon a 20 year old outdated kernel which was not stable to begin with. This by default makes the operating system unstable. It fails in comparison to grown up operating systems based on Unix, like any of the modern linux distros or bsd based operating systems.

Lol, I have a computer that STILL uses win 3.11 and guess what? It is faster on a 486 than Vista on a 'recommended' pc! It runs MORE programs at the same time than even win 98 ever did without running out memory. So take a lesson from this and STICK WITH WHAT WORKS! :)

Well I would love it if Windows just replaced XP's pixelated and cartoonish icons, buttons, windows, etc. with Vistas. Vista looks awesome, its all nice and sleek and the way you can see inside your folders is WAY cooler than XP's "thumbnails".
