  • This opening was another standard on the B&E shows.

  • Holy goodness. The questions were pretty easy but this guy got lucky. The fix was in it seemed. It's as if his opponents never had a shot. I absolutely loved this show as a child. Press your luck was the poor man's version of this show...nothing tops this show except of course The Pyramid.

  • I believe that Rob Griffin is the ALL TIME WINNINGS LEADER with his $250,000 win in the 1980 Tournament of Champions.

  • @richie19190 Well,if you count the tournament of champions he would be,but I don't think they are counting the tournament.

  • I like to see the Devil's face change to a Female so it won't be too frighted to the children.

  • What year did Joe retire from TJW?

  • I think 1983

  • joker, joker, JOKER!!!! Nice!

  • The Joker's Wild was another successful Game Show from the minds of Barry & Enright and I LOVE Face the Devil.

and plus, this show was on when Richard Dawson was still hosting Family Feud, Dick Clark was still hosting Bandstand and Pyramid, Bill Cullen was still hosting Game Shows, Pat & Vanna hosted Wheel on NBC Daytime and today on syn. Don Cornelious was still hosting Soul Train and Casey Kasem was still hosting AT10 and he continues to do Radio as well as voiceovers, including Shaggy.

  • As far as I can remember, I had never seen the devil appear in the first window. Usually it would appear in the middle or third window. Thanks for posting.

  • For the most part, Joe pwned the devil, you heard Jack 8-3 in favor of Joe for the bonus.

  • No, I meant that of ALL the times I've seen the Jokers Wild bonus rounds, that I have never ever seen the devil appear in the left window before this posting.

  • I remember seeing it happen once when GSN reran the first syndicated season back in 1997.

  • Yeah, I didn't get the GSN channel 'til 1999. Thats probably why I never seen it before. Hope GSN plays the reruns someday.

  • Jeanne Deets comedy writer - ouch.

  • How often did it occur that someone spins three jokers and misseed the question? Meaning, the game goes on like normal, right?

  • That's right, only their opponent does NOT get a chance to answer, they silply have their next turn.

  • So Hal Shear and Eileen Jason were both in Season 2 TJW where it had B's in their production slates, this season had F's in their production slates since this is from Season 6.

  • If you mean the rules yes

  • So besides Joe Dunn, some of the other regular non-ToC big-winners on Barry TJW I recognize were: Hal "Mr. Lucky Suit" Shear, Mark Gluckman, and a lady I can't paint her name out was one as well.

  • before Joe Dunn, the previous all-time regular game winner on Barry TJW was Eileen Jason in 1979.

  • The player went back to the score he/she started at prior to their immediate turn spinning the Joker machine.

  • what happened if a player continued on a fast forward category and missed?

  • They go back to the score they had when they chose Fast Forword.
