  • thank you. great video. im doing a project on 'the kell factor' and this helped me understand some basics.

  • @added23 Thank you very much :) I'm happy the video was helpful! Good luck with your project :)

  • Very informative video and well explained, thanks!

  • @ZJamaican Thank you, glad you liked the video :) I hope to be putting up lots and lots more over the year!

  • Hey man, that was really informative. What camera do you use? I'm looking at buying a (less than $1000) camera to take photos and video... and I was gonna get a Canon T2i Rebel, but then I thought maybe I'll get a Sony Nex... but after this I'm not sure what to do cause a Nex stores its video as interlaced.

  • @DomesticCowboy Thanks DomesticCowboy! :)

The camera I use is a Nikon D7000 and I've got a 18-200mm lens on it. I love the quality I get out of it (1080p at 24fps), but it takes more work than a camcorder to use. I'd be wary of any camera that only has interlaced video. You can 'deinterlace' in post, but it doesn't really work well. Best to get a camera that gives you good video to begin with :)

  • Is that the same interlaced as in interlaced GIFs? That... actually kind of makes a lot more sense now!

  • @sefiebee Yes, it works on the same principle of displaying the pixels row by row rather than all at once :) This way the user will see a rough image first and the lines will slowly fill in with more detail as the image downloads
