Thanks My Lady for your time in teaching me some new music and the voice of an amazing Tenor. And when I used to hear this sung by others it always made me think of the books I have read about that part of the USA. I now have another thought when I hear this song.
Thanks again to you!!! As I said below, I spend some of my time to post these songs cause I'm fan of John's music, and it's good when people come and write long comments!!! :)))
Definitely the most beautiful song ever to originate in America and no one sings it better that John McDermott. Thank you, LadyGreyCarolyn for taking the time to produce this and other John McDermott songs.
Thanks YOU very much for your comment, because it's much appreciated! :-)
For the time I take as John McDermott's fan to post the songs by him, it's well rewarded by the kind people like you who not only watch but also leave a comment!
By FAR my favorite of the "Irish Tenors". And actually, my favorite tenor just in general. While he has that operatic voice, somehow he still has that "everyman" quality to his voice. It's hard to explain, but I just love the way he sings.
There's no need to explain why we like a singer, or his voice, or the songs he sings... it just happens, and great emotions don't need to be put in words :)
Thanks very very much for your comment and for sharing your thoughts about John's music!!!
WOW! i love this version almost as much as Hayley's.I didn't know John is such a good singer,i'm going to listen to more of his songs.thanx 4 posting.
Thanks to YOU for watching and for your comment!!! :)))
I do not know Hayley's version or other versions of this song, I will take a listen. Anyway, I'm happy you discovered John McDermott through my video!
Well, the picture is not mine, I found it on the internet :) Nevertheless I'm happy you enjoyed the picture along with the music, and I thank you very much for watching my video and commenting on it!!! ^_^
Every country has at least one evocative song. Ireland has Londonderry Air (Danny Boy) France has La Vie En Rose.
This is America's. No one knows who composed the lovely melody, but when you hear it, you think of America.
