I didn't know Dublin had underground trains, I read somewhere they are building a network but thought it was several yrs before ready. Looks really nice and modern. I reckon the lighting could be a little brighter though. How many underground stops do they currently have?
I hope you know this is Dublin, California rather than Dublin, Ireland :-). In addition, this station is actually at the intersection of 16th/Mission in San Francisco. Because BART stations have to serve multiple lines, trains are named by their destination rather than color. So in this case, this train is headed to Dublin, which is a suburb of SF, and I think the station is above ground. And yes, a lot of underground stations could use more light :-p.
Sorry, I meant to say that the *Dublin* station is above ground (and is therefore well-lit), in the median of a freeway if I know my Bay Area well enough.
Bart Trains sound similar to LA Metro Red Line Trains

@zv8y
Not exactly.
The LACMTA Red Line AnsaldoBreda A650 cars with fleet numbers 530 through 604 use General Electric (GE) drive systems.
The BART system Gen 1 cars (Rohr A and B) use the ADTranz model 1507C drive systems.

@FullMentalPanic lol, doesn't help that the train announcement is in an Irish accent. Yeah I thought Dublin didn't have a metro yet.

BART and the Metro in DC are two of my favorite systems.
leonardwilson85 3 years ago
They're my favorite too. Note that the BART cars are smaller than the WMATA cars.

Not to mention that the Gen 1 cars on both systems were built by Rohr Industries.

i think the stations in dc have better design but the train cars look almost the same

"10 Car train for San Francisco/Daly City in 5 minutes..."

Now why would a BART train have at least 10 cars?

"This is a Dublin/Pleasanton-bound 4 car Blue Line train. The next stop is Civic Center/UN Plaza."

Add-on to comment:
This would be for the Automated Announcement System on the new BART cars.
