  • you have your independence, and what have you done with it? you have destroyed a once-great country, squandered everything that your white "oppressors" built. now we have the failed state of zimbabwe. and if that isnt bad enough, you are trying to do the same thing to south africa. you have failed, despite having abundant resources and a ready-made infrastructure built by your white "oppressors". you will always blame the whites for your own failures, which is why you are ever destined to fail.

  • hey guys.... i am a filipino here in the philippines.... i support all of the people in zimbabwe that our God will strenghten you guys out there... We have experienced that before but thanks to the brave democrats in our country,...... just wait God will move and choose people among you to make a change.... Hold to the power of everyone.

    ZIMBABWE IS WORTH DYING FOR.

  • Today is a sad day..I regret to announce Tsvangirai's withdrawal from elections. This may have been the best choice for the livelihood of MDC supporters but I also believe that Mugabe will continue to punish the opposition despite the withdrawal. Sadly, this is why intervention is necessary; without weapons, a cause can only go so far against greedy and evil interests. While peace may be the ultimate goal that we all strive for, all seekers of freedom have had to pay with some sort of sacrifice.

  • FROM A PROHET SIDE OF VIEW MUGABE WILL LOSE THE RUN-OFFs ,BUT STILL CLING TO POWER MORE PPLE WILL DIE DUE TO MUGAGE'S MILTARY RULE.lATER after SOME YEARS THERE WILL BE AN UPRISING BY THE PPLE, THEN A NEW GOVERNMENT takes power.A genocide will take place were by all the pple or supporters of Mugabe will be killed as revege for the political violences and tortures.

  • madoingtons - As sad as it is,i completely agree with youre comments.Mugabe will not go without a fight, even if he dies of old age, which hopefully is soon,he has positioned his henchmen to take over his reigns.Millitary intervention by other African countries may just prevent the doomsday prophecy of about what is to happen here in Zim

  • madoingtons - you hit the nail on the head, youre comments are so true,as what you say,as sad as it is,but the inevitable. When Mugabe goes 6ft under,he has covered all his bases to carry on with his regime

  • The crisis in Zimbabwe will nevr stop,it shall continue into a coup de ta aftre Mugabe loses the run offs, the the ARMY will take over.More pple are gonna be killed victimised and tortured until an uprising that will see power switching on to the opposition, this will lead to a massive genocide were all the Zanu pf cochroches will be murdered coz the pple wil not have the patience for trials coz they will be hurting, of which its justified.

  • Uphold your position and dig in. Greatest virtue to overcome all of the suffering that you share. No matter white or black and the level of starvation and poverty for within that shared communion of brotherhood and sisterhood the greatest expectations for Zimbabwe and your coutry, men, women and children is within your endurance, overcoming and joy for the day and for the future. Holding your courage high.

  • Bobsbeentaken, it is very inaccurate to say that the whites in Zimbabwe suffer as much as the blacks. I don't think that the world knows what a white person looks like after they go skinny coz of no food. Whites in Zimbabwe are rich and still relatively managing (most are doing well actually). So it doesn't hit them as equal as it hits black people. I know it's bad to say black-white, but race is stratified exactly as wealth, economic opportunities and all that stuff. They have more money.

  • I am a white Zimbabwean girl who is SO proud to come from a country which just keep going despite what it is delt. The majority of people, both black and white, of Zimbabwe are full of love. I have been forced out of Zimbabwe, its been 7 years now, but still my heart aches for my homeland. Once Zimbabwe is sampled, you can never forget it. Please pray for Zimbabwe during these elections that there may be change.

  • very true, very sad ! whats with the song?

  • very true wat u jst said , i jst came into ireland in 05 from living in zim all my life , the funny thing is that im not black ! im halfcast in zim we call it mukaradi ... they nevr hasstled me or askd me any stupid questions , i come from harare from a place called braiside ....and i love my country no matter wat and will always have a place for zim in my heart im 21 now and im a male .... thank u zimbabwe 4 u made me the person that iam today god bless

  • thank you for sharing your comments!

  • stop talking about race: rich educated zimbabweans have been forced out and ignorant poor ones remain. The former are only too willing to stay home and help the others build a future but the insane leadership wont let them. I am proud to be a rhodesian who remembers when life was good

  • wow so powerful! i'm a canadian that went to zim for six weeks in june'07 and the clips brought back so many memories. zimbabweans were so optimistic and grateful for everything. people shuld learn from them. we have so much that we can give them. $1 goes a long ways there

  • Im canadian too - its shocking that some Canadians have not even heard of Zimbabwe....yet one visit to Zimbabwe will bring any Canadian to a state of global shame - lll + lll

  • very touching and nice video

being a born and bred Rhodesian (Zimbabwean) - my question is this:

why is it always just about 'black' Zimbabweans???

what about all the 'white' Zimbabweans that have been mistreated and forced out of 'their' country??

  • I apologise on behalf of what others did. It was uncalled for and sad. I am all for peace so I hope you accept my apology, it's not about blacks it's about our country, everybody in this country.

  • THANK YOU. I,ve been watching all these Zim videos and not one of them even shows a white person, who are, or used to be 20% of the population, and who suffer just as much as the black zimbabweans.

  • Bobsbeentaken

You want to know why? Because it wont have the same impact. It does not conjure up the same image. Why, because even though the whites are affected, they don't live in the ghettos or the rural areas, they don't wear rags, they dont look emaciated and chances are you won't find them in the streets, or anywhere near where these images were taken. Doesn't make it right but that is the reality of Zimbabwe. As simple as that.

  • corporalpico, very sad what's happening in Zim but in response to your comment you must understand that it is very difficult for one to feel sorry for a group of people that were once viewed as having discriminated against another. There are those who say that things could've been worse for the whites and I have to say, I agree. The only thing I wanted to clarify is whether or not whites were forced to leave the country or just their farms. Are there no more whites living in Zimbabwe?

  • Very powerful so true it hurts. As the lyrics say "You don't know me, you don't wear my chains" that is so true, the outside world does not live the life as us Zimbabweans.

  • Augustana - Boston

  • Very powerful use of music and images, as usual. Great stuff. Sorry for not knowing, which song is that?
