You know, series 6 of doctor who resembles this idea. The Doctor had an almost certain death coming for him. And just like Harry, he was ready to face it, especially after knowing that Lethbridge-Steward died. And just like Harry, he managed to escape it.

I actually feel like this scene would have been better if Ron hugged Harry. I can picture it this way.

Harry: So now, I think you realize what needs to be done to make Voldemort mortal.

Ron: NOOOOO!!! *thinks back to 1st year, on the train* *thinks about how they took on the troll* *thinks about going through the chamber of secrets* *etc...*

*Ron thows himself onto harry*

@kaizoisevil I didn't like that scene in the film because it wasn't true to the characters, in the books they didn't know Harry had gone to the forest. IMHO there's no way either Ron or Hermione would've let Harry go there alone.

@billcullen i actually really liked that scene because when i first read the book, i was hoping for some sort of confrontation like that where he tells them that hes going to die. when it didnt occur, i was a bit sad. but i can see why you didnt like how that was added in because it really did change the story a bit there at the end.

I hate how only the first 20-30 seconds of this is in the movie. Ten bucks the rest of this piece was meant to be played when Harry see's Neville carrying Collin's body on his way to the forest, which was cut from the film late in post. Yates, I hate and love you... dick.

There are a lot of things I've complained about in the movies, but I think most of them have managed to add at least a few things that I actually wish had been in the book. The goodbye between Harry, Hermione, and Ron when they realized what had to happen is definitely one of them.

It doesn't hurt that DH1 and 2 have probably had the best performances from the younger cast members.

The bit of Obliviate in there is pretty nice and reminds me of quote in the book: "The long game was ended, the Snitch had been caught, it was time to leave the air. . . ." Obliviate was the start of the adventures in DH, and this song showed that this adventure is about to end, about to "close". Thumbs up to Desplat.

Oddly enough, where I finally had to stop fighting back the urge to ball was when Dumbledore told Snape the truth about Harry having to die. You then heard Hooper's "Dumbledore's Farewell" from Half-Blood Prince, the piece that still makes me cry when I hear it.

I could kind of hear a taste of the Farewell throughout this, especially in the beginning. After the fact, I can now truly appreciate Desplat's score for Deathly Hallows... and go ahead and ball, because no one can see me.

I hate how he hugs Hermione but not Ron, who was the first only friend he ever had before he got to Hogwarts. I was like "WHAT THE FUCK?" Ron just looks confused like he always his even though his friend is about to die.

@mrsraddliffe as long as all horcruxes have been destroyed it doesn't matter how they kill Voldemort. It doesn't have to be Harry himself. That's why he made sure that they get the snake killed so that when someone attempts to kill Voldemort, he will definitely die this time, he's gonna be so vulnerable. And Harry sacrificed himself for those people, that's the same magic when Lily sacrificed herself for Harry, so they can't be hurt, If you noticed no one else died when Harry came back.

@hrkelsey That scene in the movie came off very well...but I couldn't quite get past the moment itself. I thought it did Harry a great injustice to be that self indulgent, and made him seem much smarter than he really is. The "I think I've known for a while, and I think you have too." really irked me. No you didn't! Neither did Hermione! But the "I'll go with you!" and the look that Ron and Harry shared...oh man, tears were streaming.

I thought that the scene just after Harry sees Snape's memories in the Pensieve, when he realizes that to save everyone he has to die, had some of the best acting that Daniel Radcliffe has done in all of the Potter movies. He's really come into his talents and the character in the more recent films.
