It's funny...I keep working on things like "Countdown", "Giant Steps", and "Cherokee". Even when I play that stuff well, it always seems like a dry intellectual exercise to me. Larry never comes across as a technical player and always comes across as an artist. Some guys like Larry and Charlie Christian are just blessed with expressiveness.

To be honest hexxle, I either watch all tutorials for guitar on here (youtube) or I know another site that I found on youtube called PLAYLIKEAPROONLINE (dot) INFO that is really really helpful, with stacks and stacks of videos, it really did help me out.

This 'technique' is very much like BB King. He show that you just don't have to move around much to get some great blues sounds.

Of course, anyone can learn this Blues Scale but..How many people can sounds good with one position ? Efficient playing Mr Carlton !...

Larry just makes it sing - doesnt matter if he's staying in one position or flying all over the neck. The man's playing is so musical. One of my favorite players.
