  • zajebiste ! super stuff ~!

  • 15 people have no sound card

  • YES!!!!, but the live version is even better with an extra 5 min. of playtime. Joe will blow you away on an album, but even more so on stage.

  • in my humble opinion if someone deserves to be next to Satriani (And I wouldnt put Vai there but I can see why you like it) would be the great Paul Gilbert instead of buckethead, you know.. his teacher :).

  • You know, you can call me dumb, but actually I don't like Joe Satriani as much as Jimi Hendrix, Jimi Page... I know I'm talking about two different things but, his style bores me /: Am I the only one?

  • @pzicodeLia Sorry, but YES :P

  • @pzicodeLia satriani has like 10000 different styles

  • I had hear of Satriani before, and heard his songs. Now I thought of listening him to more, and DAMN! He is a fucking killer!

  • This guitar talks. ;-)

  • Hecho de las lagrimas...

  • He is smooth. effortless transitions...an improvisatioal master!

  • okay this song is cool but i have to refrain from looking at the vid for some cosmophobic problems.

  • IMAGINE HE PLAY THIS OR SOME OTHER EPIC SONG OF HIS ON TOP OF THE MOON AND HE DOESNT HAVE WEAR A HELMET OR SUIT OR ANYTHING THEN LOADS OF FIREWORKS FALLING STARS WOULD BE GOING ROUND IN SPACE WHILE HE'S PLAYING AND IT WOULD BE PROJECTED ONTO EARTH TO WE CAN WATCH FROM EARTH - THUMBS UP IF U THINK THAT WOULD BE AWSOME?

  • @Extrashockwave =/ I really hope English is not your first language.

  • @jonelle414 its usually what my spelling is like out of school - and it sometimes takes a while to get used to writing properly when i get back to school - but at least i got a C in english for year 11 - anyway please check out our videos see what you think

  • joe u da man , for sure, this is, tunage of wire ,keep it banging .

  • BucketHead + Eminence Front - The Who

  • This studio version sucks. I like the live in 2006 version better.

  • I should be asleep now, but i just cant stop listening to satch!

  • My top five guitarists are Joe Satriani, Jeff Beck, Carlos Santana, Paul Gilbert and Slash.

Honorary mentions go to: Jimi Hendrix, Buckethead, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and every other awesome guitarist.

  • @schnabby No offense to you good sir but Buckethead is better than Slash and Carlos Santana combined, and well Jimi is better that Buckethead, Slash, AND Carlos Santana combined. But its your opinion so I'm not gunna bash it. All your top 5 are fucking great guitarists. Sorry if I offended you in any way. Just put in my 2 cents :)

  • @samuelbrace22 No worries, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Each to their own....They are all great guitarists. I said honorary mentions because it's so hard for me to choose who I like best out of all of them really.

  • @schnabby Ya really though. Trying to pick a fave guitarist is like choosing a damn house or car. Lol. Glad I didn't offend. Just didn't want to start a flame war. LOL.

  • This tune is completely off the hook.

There is Joe, and then there is everyone else.

    The end.

  • @nuclearsharkattack what are you? joe's mom

  • @Bluessontlavie I'm the guy that went wider and deeper into your Mom than your old man. Ask her about it sometime.

  • @nuclearsharkattack good comeback

  • @nuclearsharkattack obviously. totally agree man.

  • @nuclearsharkattack Fuckin right m8 class

  • great song!!!!!!

  • saw him in orlando in december.......best concert i have ever attended. SATCH RULES.

  • 13 people are deft!!!

  • @Althe05 Deaf ?

  • @Althe05 .. deft as posfts !

  • @Althe05 I'm sincerely hoping I'm not the first to notice this, but there is a slight difference between "deft" and "daft." Unless I am mistaken, you probably meant the latter.

  • @hawkeye2816 isn't it deaf? or at least deaft? unless i noticed wrong....you probably typed wrong,.....who cares? i dont think that anyone still wonders what he meant

  • @Althe05 Awesome music......love it

  • 0:36 cheese ball?

  • 1)satriani,vai,buckethead

    2)others...

  • @20DoseOver Buckethead doesn't deserve to go there, put Zakk Wylde instead.

  • @20DoseOver I think is satriani , petrucci , vai ,

  • @musicalesvip um...no. Petrucci's a great guitarist...but he's no buckethead...

  • @20DoseOver OMG. YOU READ MY MIND. FUCKING HELLLL.

  • @20DoseOver

    my thoughts exactly.

  • @20DoseOver do you know Petrucci? ;D

  • @zoiberg1212 if you want to hear melody listen Steve Vai, if you want to hear effects listen Joe Satriani, if you want to hear fast guitar listen Buckethead, if you want to dance with guitar listen Paul Gilbert, if you want to hear shredding listen Michael Angelo, if you want to fuck your girlfriend's brain make her listen Petrucci and close your ears...

  • @20DoseOver Hell of a list :)

  • i live in saudi arabia, i went to desert to explore sky with my dad with celestron 12", this song reminds me of the awesomeness that i witnessed at that time!!

    Joe Satriani is Amazing!!!

  • @d3vilofdreams121 What is Celestron?

  • @anival2sorto telescope (:P)

  • @anandthepianoguy Cool :D

  • I prefer without any doubt live version of this song.

  • I don't know hot to play guitar but i am amased about Joe Satriani and i think not everyone can make or even play he's songs like he does

  • Satriani and Vai should not be put in the same sentence. The only thing they have in common is what people know already.... lessons and friends. I am sorry guys but malmsteen is an arpeggiator and could not come close to either of them ...........and maybe many other great guitarists. Vai pushes guitar to its limits...joe is a groover and anyone who has tried to learn his music will know that there are notes stuck in there that are hard to follow.

  • @AnthonyCudlipp Satriani was Vai's guitar teacher.

  • @omnikickflip9000 Yea man ... That was my point. That and being friends is there only connection. They are nearly pushing the limits of rock guitar style in opposite directions both great but very different.

  • Vai's music is to cheesy and 80's for me. Joe's music is timeless, epic and every song is like a new story

  • satriani > vai because he puts more emotions in his music, and it feels sweeter, slower and better... vai only wins in his speed

  • @iampopuIar and cause Satriani is the teacher lol

  • @omnikickflip9000 I don't know why people have to keep mentioning teacher, student crap. How many decades ago was this? Exactly. It's been long enough for Vai to "teach himself", and quite a bit I may add.

Can't say one is better than the other, it's a matter of opinion when the musician gets to a level such as this.

My opinion? Vai is better technique and pure skill wise. But Joe writes a much better tune. Take it for what it's worth, an opinion, just that.

  • @iampopuIar thats sooo not true....m a fan of both of Steve n Joe.....but after listening to so many of their song....i feel that its totally wrong to compare these 2 legends....and about speed try listening to crystal planet and see how much pace Joe picks up in the end....and then check the song Misfits by Vai...track is damn slow n melodius jus da way u like iampopular

  • This is my one of my favourite songs by Joe. I actually prefer the live concert version of it. Either way though it just has such a great beat. Can't wait to see Joe Live in next month. Thanks for sharing. : )

  • this is shit compared to live version. good song though.

all his songs are much better live

  • @ACDC2K10 You know, it really amazed me when I saw Joe's live performances. Like anyone I knew Joe was world-class, but I never thought anyone could be as good as he is live, then I found out most of his recordings are one-offs, that's just ridiculous...

  • Absolutely superb. In the world of guitar, Satch is Numero Uno. What more is there left to say.

  • Is the picture satch's home planet?

  • @jhart97 yup, planet awesome

  • Joe definately has something more than the others. It can't be taught or learned. He doesn't have to try it's just there. Fast also doesn't matter as many of his songs are not played at umteen picks per second. I think he is the best

  • showwww

  • Ahhh love this song.. one of my favorites from joe

  • Awesome. :)

  • 1. Jimmy

    2. Bucket

    3. Joe

    4. Steve

    5. Kirk

If you know your shit, you don't need their last names...

  • @TheConservatveLibral

i think joe should rank above buckethead, but just my opinion ^^

  • @TheConservatveLibral

I'm not sure the head in buckethead would count as his last name, lol

  • @zmus3 You're right, his last name is "Giant Robot Chicken" or "Land"

  • @TheConservatveLibral i also think Joe should be above buckethead :)

  • @TheConservatveLibral Whos bucket head? HAAHAHAHA

  • @SoulBirthGuitar Who is Buckethead you say? A maste of experimental genres with 17 studio albums, who has played lead guitar with over 9 bands including Praxis, Primus and Guns'N'Roses, collaborated with Viggo Mortensen (yes Aragorn from LOTR) and Serj Tankian, Did music for the Saw movie series, did Goro's theme in Mortal Kombat the movie and the Solos and lead guitar in the Power Rangers movie theme song. He is also known as "Death cube K" an anagram of Buckethead in which he released 5 albums

  • @TheConservatveLibral He has also done tribute songs for basketball players Michael Jordan, George "the ice man" Gervin and Lebron Jamesand recorded a tribute for Michael Jackson after his death... simply put, buckethead has the greatest work ethic of any guitarist to ever live...

  • @TheConservatveLibral Ok, but why are you talking abut him in a satriani video?

  • @SoulBirthGuitar Cause I listed him in my top 5 which is below in the comments somewhere...

  • @TheConservatveLibral That's nice...but, he doesn't write songs like this. Enough said

  • @geb5029 Yeah, but you've never listened to a Buckethead song, when I have obviously heard a Satriani song... they are both virtuoso. To compare Steve Vai, Joe Satriani and Buckethead is to compare Clapton, SRV and Hendrix...

  • @TheConservatveLibral I hear you. Believe me, I'm not trying to start a big disagreeance. I have heard some Buckethead...and he's definitely a fabulous guitarist. There's no one that really plays like him either, which is the beauty of this kind of music. I think they're definitely both one in a billion. Great artists...I prefer Joe's music. But I can see why people like Buckethead, too.

  • @geb5029

Have you heard Machete by Buckethead?

    wow.......... :)

  • his face looks like its melting in the album cover

  • that solo speaks ffs

  • Joe Satriani - Made of Awesome

  • check out the cover of this song by pasterofmuppets its EPIC

  • b-e-a-u-tiful !!

  • I love the 2006 live version aswell. It has such a beautiful vibe to it.

Joe Satriani's music changed me in a great way. Right now after I finnish this school i'm going straight to a music university :)

  • @1madaboutguitar boring? ......... huh:( i could say : touching, exciting, encouraging, interesting, soothing, relaxing, thrilling, and the list would go on until i run out of English words and turn on to otherlanguages..

  • @roveritis And thats your opinion and fair play to you

  • @roveritis in some way ... i think his songs , some of his songs are "orgasmic" . or "cosmic" if you want . Something like that , like looking at the moon and wondering how we happen to be there .

  • read last comments lol that's y

  • Santriani can play anything. even a SHEET

  • a sheet?

  • How many strings does this SHEET you speak of, have?

  • oh man within a few minutes i just went thru all the sad moments of my life, such emotion n soul ... i dun have words, im speechless ... there r still tears in my eyes ... u can feel it coming from his soul and going deeper and deeper into ur soul as u listen to it ...

  • @letsplaywiththunder

that is why the theme of this music,MADE OF TEARS.

  • I have played and played so much that my fingers bleed and I still cant get my music to sound this good...

  • Yeah...fuckin' awesome feeling from the core of his soul....healing ours.....play the blues Satch....

  • I love this song, it's very emotional. You can tell that Satriani isn't just playing notes, he's playing music.

  • *Our* Milky Way? Should it *we* be the *Milky Way*'s children? It was in the stars of the Milky Way that the heavy metals necessary for life on Earth were forged.

  • @gairabad We still say "our dad," or "my dad," we don't say, "the man of whom I am a son."

  • See:"LOVE THING BY DOUGLAS"

    Very good too!

  • Want to hear the worst song ever Recorded come to my page

  • joe satriani in the lord of guittar.

  • Joe is fantastic :)

  • Joe is the best

  • Joe's awesome. lol.

  • Logiotek: I respect your opinion, but you present it as facts, This isn't a competition. I love them all, and they all make diverse music. I'm sorry to here that you are so close minded that you can only enjoy one of them...

  • Take a look at my favorites, I am hardly enjoying only one of hem. I am just stating how it is based on close examination of all artists in question in this discussion.

  • Satch breaks it down to the listners level to the dancer's level and through complex things he down in the past in the midst EMOTION lol music is about emotion not technique all the time come into the 21st century the 80's are over

  • technique sets artists apart. the way his guitar sounds is attributed to how he holds the notes and stuff.

  • I think Joe is from another planet. Noone from Eath could be this great.

  • @pigletized He is. All these messages you see around from his music to albums. He is the Silver Surfer. He turned his surfboard into a chrome guitar and he basks in his own holiness. He is the most amazing music creater on this planet. I've loved his music ever since I heard him for the first time which I believe was the crush of love my dad always played it when I was a toddler. Now i'm 19 and he has changed my life with music. Why isn't he as famous ah he should be.

  • Beautiful...thank you for this!!

  • nice

  • Mere words can't even come close to describing this man and his music. One has to experience it!

  • Satriani is GOD! There has been no better guitar player since Frank Zappa!!

    ROCK ON!!!

  • what about John Petrucci, steve vai, paul gilbert, richie kotzen? Satch is great and the guitarists I've mentioned owe much to Satch but to be honest I'd say technique wise all three are better

  • lol are you kidding no way

  • honestly I've seen all four of the guitarist I mentioned live and based on pure technique the four i mentioned are just better, especially when it comes to alternate picking, its not a huge difference but it's noticable, mind you satch came before them all and is more popular, so maybe as a complete guitarist (song writing being included here) he is the best and don't get me wrong I still think is a brillant guitarist

  • if you remove vai from that list.. i may be able to agree with you.

    technique wise.

also.. i think malmsteem could play anything satch could.. but yngwie just SUCKS when it comes to songwriting..

satch is my fav.. because imo.. he is the best melody maker.

  • lol tony macalpine is a master of guitar piano.he blows satch away with skill.but i do like joe.

  • @sniktawleahcim yngwie couldn't even play "starry night" by joe satriani. He ain't got the soul to play it, he would just shred it away

  • soul is in the songwriting.. not the playing.

joe has good songwriting, ill give him that, that is why he is my fav. guitarist (behind buckethead).

  • @sniktawleahcim soul is not in the playing ?... what? Are you freakin nuts

  • not at all.

    it is the songwriting.

you can write down on paper almost exactly how to play the song, how long to hold the notes, you can even put down vibrato and bends and such.

can you give me any explanation as to how this "soul" cannot be written?

  • I'm not saying it's not in the songwriting but it's just as much in the playing. That's why people love Satch, Vai, Pettrucci, Slash etc cause they play with their "soul". You can tell a big difference from them and for example malmsteen which is just a shredhead

  • @sniktawleahcim

Everyone can read notes, but to play notes with amazing accuracy and timing does need "soul" and feeling really, check out great drummers, it's not like they know every timing by heart, they just feel when they need to hit that thing really hard!

  • @sniktawleahcim - Soul comes from within. Some of Joe's most "Soulful" stuff, is improvised. Take for instance the solo at the end of memories on the live version from Dreaming #11.

  • agreed :) hez an ass hole! ...

  • he wouldnt shred it away, because there isnt any shredding on the sheet music.

i dont know if you have ever played off of sheet music before, but it describes exactly when to play each note, and for how long to sustain it, it describes rhythm, timing, and melody. there is nothing in the song that cannot be expressed in the sheet music.

so, if yngwie played what the sheet music said, it would sound just as soulfull.

  • eh, yes he would. He's not gonna play with a sheet, wtf?

  • @sniktawleahcim I can play with tabs too, even the exact notes but still it won't sound like Satch.. There's a reason why. It's not like you can just play whatever tab and it will sound just like the person who wrote it... That's just crazy..

  • tabss!=sheet music.

there is a big difference between the 2.

  • @xxRockst4r good point

  • @xxRockst4r some people can do it. check out that nip guy.

  • Not entirely true. There are a lot of self-made techniques that have no universal symbols in sheet music. The douzens of ways to use a whammy bar, perhaps? Effects pedals, maybe?

  • @sniktawleahcim he doesnt even write his own numbers, they are all from Mozart and other classical bullshit xD

  • @kareltjeXD

    they arent strictly that though.

Malm. takes large chunks of classical stuff and puts his own spin on it.

i like allot of classical music, but im not a fan of the malmsteem spin offs.

  • @sniktawleahcim buckethead, shawn lane??

  • @sniktawleahcim Aww, c'mon man, his first 4 albums (with the exception of maybe half of Marching Out) have some pretty great tunes written by Malmsteen !

  • @sniktawleahcim dont be vulgar :)

  • hell no, Satch is actually known for his incredible technique and to be able to play anything ! John petrucci is great but his technique is kinda weird and not as good as satch. Vai has a weird way of playing too, hard to compare and not to mention Satch taught him. Gilbert is not close to satch at all and richie I don't know

  • Alot of guitarists bore me when i listen to them for more then a few minutes but it isn't like that when i listen to Satriani so much.

  • No dude, he's right. Paul Gilbert, John Petrucci and Vai are all technically stronger. Paul gilbert and John Petrucci for extreme alternate picking and sweeping and vai has sexier legato. But once they get to that level, it really doesn't matter, as they all play completely different styles.

  • Petrucci is alternat picker, Gilbert is string skipper, Satriani is legato master, if yuo think that Vai has sexier legato, go have another look, in fact Vai mastered making things appearing more complicated than they really are by his theatrical ability combined with guitar playing. Of all them, Joe has the strongest most diverse and most unique phraising, abilitiy to speak with his instrument far more expressive than people you named. Does that count for something? It's not in HOW its in WHAT.

  • Its very interesting to watch G3 and see them all come together and play diffrent solos to the same song. It really shows their different styles that make them unique.

  • Yea it is, I started listening to Via first but I thought to myself that he's so technically good that he goes to crazy with his guitar to even follow him, I like listening to joe's pieces better. more melodical or something.

  • @speed1205 I'm with you on that...Vai is very good to a point, and then mayhem ensues...I think Joe plays more from within himself....IMHO

  • And they're all fucking brilliant....

  • @xxRockst4r stop searching the best guitarist is Funktwo !

  • Great tune but the live version is amazing
