@jasondeblinger It went pretty well actually, had almost no pain at all, only minor sinus discomfort and the bone has grown back almost completely. I have another check-up in 3 months.
That seemed relatively simple operation, remove the "corrupted/infected" material, and replace the lost material with synthetic solution?
Funny how this video seemed kinda interesting, but at the same time I'm scared shitless to go to see a dentist. I feel too vulnerable while at the same time all my instincts are telling me to push the person away. Don't really like having unknown people poking my mouth/head.
I guess that's the downsides of having 8 years of martial arts training.
All I have to say is, thank God for dentists otherwise we'd be in a lot worse shape. And I'm happy to say while I've had 6 composite fillings, I have never had any root canals. I'd rather just have great oral care than see an endo or periodontist. But thanks for helping us with our teeth problems Doc :)
can calcium hydroxide be used.. wats the principle of using calcium sulphate....you hv used air oter handpiece to enlarge the cavity, will it not cause air emphysema....
@narendraden Calcium hydroxide cant be used. It's used internally In root canals. The hand piece we use for surgeries blows air out the back end to avoid emphysema. Good question.
Calcium sulfate is great with very large lesions. It allows bone to grow within it and resorbs. It is mixed with sterile saline or anesthesia. Thanks!!
How can someone have that size of an infection in their head and not have any ancillary symtomology? Or are these types of infections usually considered "occult" or asymptomatic?
