  • The water MAIN at our house is in the middle of the yard 3 feet down, below the frost line. You need to contact the city and make an appointment to turn it off. Inside the house in the basement, there are 2 valves one before the meter, one after. These are simply shutoffs. If I had a shutoff outside, I would definitely re-plumb it inside.

  • Ummm, 9/10 of the houses have them located IN THE HOUSE..... so again, what are you teaching me? to look for something where it most likely or usually, is not?
