My dad studied under Mr. Nuuhiwa for 17 back in the 70's and 80's. I studied under him off and on for some time. He was family, and his impact on peoples lives will surely be missed. He was without a doubt, the greatest person I have ever met in my life. I love ya Uncle David. We miss you more than words can explain.
Awesome piece of personal history of an icon of Hawaiian healers and martial artists. It was great to work out with him again a few years ago in Honolulu at the annual lua conference. He is deeply missed by the inter-island community of healers and martial artists. Aloha Papa!
RIP Uncle Dave. I was a student and neighbor of his. He was a true pioneer of MMA. He was so humble and down to earth. I miss him dearly.
