  • RIP Uncle Dave. I was a student and neighbor of his. He was a true pioneer of MMA. He was so humble and down to earth. I miss him dearly.

  • I met him in the mid 80's He invited me to study, I was a student of HWA RANG DO at the time. I did not make it to see him and later I found out about him. I really missed a great oppourtunity

  • My dad studied under Mr. Nuuhiwa for 17 back in the 70's and 80's. I studied under him off and on for some time. He was family, and his impact on peoples lives will surely be missed. He was without a doubt, the greatest person I have ever met in my life. I love ya Uncle David. We miss you more than words can explain.

  • Awesome piece of personal history of an icon of Hawaiian healers and martial artists. It was great to work out with him again a few years ago in Honolulu at the annual lua conference. He is deeply missed by the inter-island community of healers and martial artists. Aloha Papa!

  • Great Video. Keep up the good work.
