  • Question: I would like to purchase this episode, however, I don't know the Title of the Episode. Also, is this from Deep Space Nine? Some please help me. Thanks a bunch!

  • @elisonjames1017 This is actually from a fan made movie called Star Wreck:The Pirkinning..

  • Would someone PLEASE put up the damn shields?

  • @Victorpughenry they couldn't. I don't remember the tech details, but after they entered the "other" universe, their shields were disabled along the way

  • ah, star wreck...

  • WoW, it look like future battles are allot more dangerous, i bet in one battle alone star fleet lost almost an estimated 10 thousand casualties? and people are complaining about today's war causalities who are only in their hundreds?

  • where are the forward and aft shields, rotating modulation hmmm.. but nether the less an eye candy presentation...well done.. Ps some one needs to create or discover warp capability hopefully in my lifetime but I DOUBT it, there planets out there that support human life..that are a thousand light years away..

  • why would the Earth gov and the United federation of planets fight each over ?

  • @Thestuka1 because Pirk's star trek-like fleet wanted to take over the alternative Earth to solve their overpopulation problem back home

  • i used to like star trek

  • Who are they fighting, the babylon 5 univers stuff. This is from a film called "star wreck in the pirkinning", the film pretty much explains half the questions here :P.

  • Why is it that every time I click on a sci-fi related video, I get an ad for Geek Dating?

  • Stunning!

    :)

  • Why do none of the Federation ships have shields?

  • who are they fighting?

  • Dude, that was just fucking cool!

  • Brilliant. Loved Voyager and the Defiant being involved in it. Well done.

  • Awesome video! If this was a fan made film, well done!

  • You need sound effects!!! You should have stolen the sound effects from movies n such. Would have been Awesome!! Also.. donde esta shields?

  • Why didn't the starfleet ships turn on their shields! The shields! The ssssshhhhiiiieeeellllldddddssss!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @focuskid100 Because, they having tea... yes, tea...

  • What was the Constitution Refit Class Ship doing to the Sovereign Class ship at 5:24?

  • @MultiSj23 it was pushing it with a tractor beam to ram the other ship

  • @MultiSj23 Hazard Emitters it does a large hull heal and a small damage resistance buff...

  • Nice video... however, throughout the battle I kept wondering where the hell were the Star Trek ships' shields?

  • @terrywest111 i was thinking the exact same thing O_o also, there is no way in hell trek ships would lose like that, i saw in 1 TNG Ep where they said the Enterprise was impervious to laser weapons

  • Now I haven't seen Babylon 5 yet (plan to, and this is a nice reminder to do so), and that doesn't really matter. What DOES matter is that I've seen Star Trek/Star Wars/Babylon 5 battles before and this is one of the best of that which I've ever seen. Sound would have been nice, but that's alright. Major thing I would say is the lack of shields on the part of the Federation ships....*reads up on things* Oh. ...Well seems that this is taken from something else...so yeah. :P I'll check that out!

  • Pure awesomeness - that was some fine work - I was repeatedly stunned by the seamless integration - that could have been made by the FX team at either show.

I'm assuming that was done with generated animation - if the maker put that together by editing in show footage, then I will have to grow a second head so that I can take two hats off to them.

  • Ship breakdown on the B5 side, for those unfamiliar:

The big ships with rotating midsection are 'Omega' class Earthforce destroyers. Huge, but low tech.

The smaller cap ships are 'Hyperion' cruisers.

The station is of course, Babylon 5.

Tiny 'x-wing' looking things are Starfuries - 1 man low tech fighter.

The agile beam & gunships are White Star class ships, hybrid alien tech, similar to a Defiant in scale.

The massive tri-wing is the Excalibur - hybrid tech super-battleship.

  • Overlooking the fact that comparing across fictional genres is pointless... ;)

Most TNG ships would have a big advantage over Earthforce, given that they use much more advanced and exotic technologies - antimatter, grav control, intertialess drives - while Earthforce is using more realistic tech like fusion, lasers, plasma and armor.

A closer match-up would be Fed vs. Mimbari, who use technology closer to Federation tech levels.

Much more fun to watch an even fight though. Very nice FX work.

  • Not trying to nitpick here but cherry picking the better ships in Babylon 5 to go vs the lineup of just one faction within Star Trek sounds a bit biased to me, I mean true you could say the Federation had multiple alien races within its borders but that does not excuse the fact that only one faction was used... hell I think the klingons would've had a blast with B5's fleet :D.

  • I never get the poit of ST fans to consider 80 years old ships as equal or even superior to next generation's vessels...

  • @SirGalahadCtny it's not that they're equal or superior, it's simply that the older ships get refitted and retrofitted regularly, and as a result. stay in service instead of being mothballed.

  • @KitusPariah Well... you don't see World War One vessels in service today, or World War Two vessels.

Because, no matter how much you cover them into newest metals, they're simply not sufficient.

I think that simpliest answer is - they're loved and cherished by Trekkers.........

(which is secont point I never get - they're actually ugly!-)

  • where were the friggin Vorlons?

  • what is fighting the federation??

  • *yawn* looks like russkies didnt develope shields or ablative armor. oh and ST ships travel much faster than that at impulse.full impulse is half of lightspeed . They could go faster but then time dilation becomes a factor. All and all a very good video.

  • Its a shame whoever designed this couldn't have treated the Fed ships with more fairness.

  • Kudos to whoever took the time to create this scene. Awesome job!

  • This is an star trek spoof called Star Wreck.

Though the animation is bad ass :)

As for those asking, the other ships are from the show Babylon 5. If you've never seen it, go have a watch, supposedly Star Trek was sued by the creator of Babylon 5 when a studio turned down the project and created Deep Space 9 based on Babylon 5.

The animation in Babylon 5 is lower quality than Star Trek at the time, the story is epic and there is a complete history cannon for Babylon 5 that doesn't conflict.

  • brilliantly done. Effects and composition are just jaw dropping good. Wow.

  • "So...we're fighting with our shields down...why?"

  • Who are the bad guys in this clip?

  • @SilentFrontline2009 Babylon 5 I think

  • Great stuff! Enjoyed it!

  • Great video: And the only ship to make it thru and than to fall:U.S.S. Enterpise 1701-A.Brilliant.

  • pause video at 241. u see two creepers...

  • WOW!

  • 5:37 Talk about throwing the kitchen sink at your enemy!

  • @HumansDreaming Obvious reference to Star Trek Nemesis

  • Damn this was awesome. Not really sure who the russians were and if the other sde was suppose to be the Americans, but i dont really care. Awesome FXs and great vid.

  • I love the special effects. I don't quite understand the story, if there is one. Federation vs.....

  • Awesome video!

  • The supreme space battle video I've ever seen before!

  • This is just clips from Star Trek vs. Babylon 5 - the final fight with some music added.... Nice try tho but the videos you ripped off is far better

  • The Star Trek ships would lose the battle due to explosive keyboards and lack of seat belts.

  • @jednoucelovy well the star trek ships should be more powerful because their technology is 100s of years ahead of babylon 5 ships. The babylon ships have to spin to create gravity while star trek ships have artificial gravity and other advanced technologies such as replicators, holo decks, tractor beams, shields etc.

  • nice battle i enjoyed this video

  • Fantastic video great stuff

  • "Very excellently done!"

  • No quantum Torpedoes what up with that

  • The Soverign class has a nasty habit of ramming speed...

  • I think you forgot the Shields on the Federation ships, and more to the point, Federation starships are far more agile than omega class destroyers - why attack head on?

  • cool battle

  • how come they didn't use their shields??

  • @GozersApprentice It was so that it was a fair fight between the earth alliance and the federation. The earth destroyers had there cannons nerfed aswell

  • This is from the movie Star Wreck Imperial Edition. the and its a finish group movie all the other movies can be found here on youtube (as they are free and uploaded by the creator) Imperial Edition is a remake of one of they old movies and the first full movie length film.. Also it have actually been award the Best Sci-fi battle of all time.

  • love the ending

    its a lose lose scenario

  • I love it how the defiants break formation first to pursue the fighters

    where did you get this?

  • Cool! Not sure why the Galaxy Class was smaller than the Constellation Class though, and the Inteprid Class seemed massive... x)

  • Awesome, can you please make another video (in HD)?

    I love 3:24 - 3:29 and 3:39 -3: 48.

  • OK.. story question... what really took place and what prompted this wonderful engagement? I noticed the Constitution Class ship, uses a tractor beam to guide the Sovereign Class ship with missing nacell, into the 'ship killer' for a collision attack, then shoots 4 torpedoes, gets it port rear nacell damaged, then a huge explosion wiping out surviving ships and the C.P.P. Kalinka ?? falls through a 'worm hole' or a conduit then emerges on the other side caught in the planets gravity?

  • Too bad Star Trek never had such an awesome battle. The last probable great battle was between One Borg Cube and an entire Star Fleet Ships.

  • @sgal88 Yes, if only Star Wreck can 'redo' Best of Both Worlds @ Wolf 359! Combine Lt Commander Sisko, and of course update the battle / engagement more smooth like. There are other battles that are cool to see. The Battle of Nerandra III, With the Enterprise-C, ahhh would be cool to bring the Star Trek T.N.G. and D.S.9. crew together to do battle remakes. With Paramount's blessing and Star Wreck's imagery. :)

  • Ooooh Kay... another look at this. It seems, what if the Russians got their hands on 23rd and 24th Century Technology, and built a Russian fleet of Starships. I noticed the C.P.P. designation on the 'federation' ships. Have to do some

rewinding and pausing, but its distinct, its not the "U.S.S." but the "C.P.P."

designation. Imagine if the Russian Government constructed, and engaged any

enemy with this kind of technology!!! OY!

  • Wow, I'm speechless. This was very well done.

  • Ooooooh Kay.... Uhm... I didn't know Babylon 5 was invading Federation Space? I like to know where Picard, Janeway, and Sisko are at? What started this attack in the first place? I'd expect the Jem H'Dar to do this. At least the Cardassian and Romulan battle would be cool. Then again, I'd love to see Imperial Star Destroyers match up with the Dominion to go against an improved Battlestar Galactica make peace with the Federation. :) Epic show down!

  • What's with all this Star Trek vs Babylon 5 stuff? Two groups of good guys fighting each other? Who would probably be friends if they met? It's total bullshit!

  • Nice to see the old Connie can still kick ass. :)

  • great video thumbs up and faved.

  • @cashbox5457 i tried your suggestion and it is YOU who should feel ashamed for spamming this video just to plug someone else. Their video has some different explosion effects and frankly some that appear to be quite old? their ship imagery is clearer than this, and i do appreciate that they kept the continuity intact by choosing adversaries from the same galaxy/network/series.. but honestly as far as the sheer immensity of the battle and excitement level.. this wins out..

  • I love Trek fans who accepted every technobabble concept the show spouted yet when a technobabble concept comes up that puts the supremacy of their franchise in doubt its all "OMG that is so fake. That wouldn't happen.".

  • @Fbueller129 it is not only the trek fans.. honestly it seems to be the ones who know BOTH series, familiar with the capabilities of BOTH adversaries that seem to have truly valid questions - phasers are MUCH more powerful, and shields would dissipate lasers into pretty lights. The tactics of the Federation seem all wrong.. all but Defiant are capital ships, for medium and long range assault, but in the video they are used like fighters - ((Terrific and Exciting!)) But not very accurate.

  • @Mikanojo I was referring to the people asking "Why don't they have any shields" and their decrying of the plot device used to even up the fight. I agree with you that fans of two sci-fi franchises usually get into flame wars over who would beat who. I'm a B5 fan and I know the ships of that franchise would get their asses kicked six ways from Sunday in a fight against Star Trek ships.

  • @Fbueller129 its because this is like taking the wings of a fly, and throwing the fly of a cliff to see if it will live.

  • What is this from?

  • For some reason this video reminds me of the final fight in Avatar. This would look incredible in 3D

  • You can't use shields when your fighting this close. watch some Deep Space Nine episodes

  • Very well done!

  • Wish full thinking that a crusier from babylon 5 could last long in this fight.

  • What battle was this? Also where can i watch it without music but just the battle?

  • Ok ive seen this film and in the universe the battle takes place shields dont work.

  • Nice, very nice.

  • I don't understand why the Federation ships aren't using there shields?

  • @67irishfire Perhaps the enemy weaponry is capable of penetrating their shields, kinda like the phased polaron beams had very damaging effects on Federations shields during Deep Space Nine's Dominion War, in which the Jem'Hadar fighters used phased polaron technology as weaponry.

  • @WeAreBorg359 watch 'Star Wreck'. Their shields don't work in this other dimension.

  • @67irishfire they can't, watch the movie 'Star Wreck'

  • Salute to the crew of that Sovereign Class starship.

    She fought like a champ.

  • Holy shit dude that was awesome, it must have taken ages to make! The federations battle tactics were pretty dire though hahah!

  • I usually despise fan-made stuff like this, but this is quite good. I actually watched the whole thing and enjoyed it. Please, keep at it.

  • Not a gigantic fan of Trek but I think this is an awesome video!

  • These guys should be hired to do the next Star Trek movie. Desighn, effects, even part of the writing. Their obviously superior to hollywoods execs that have helped drive a cherished series far into the ground.

  • Shes packing quite a wallop!

  • 6:35 bottom left corner, that looks like voyager

  • @hyoboy81

Yea, this is a "Intrepid" starship class, but... Voyager?

  • bah the excalibur gets shields but the sovereign class doesnt O.o .. still tho .. love the work u done here .. very entertaining :)

  • @TheNinjari The Excalibur doesn't get shields, it's got special armor that absorbs most/all of the energy from many projected energy weapons.

  • @notablegoat So it more or less is a shield then ... coz thats wot it sounds and looks like :)

  • omg this is the most epic fight on earth!!!!

  • At 1:95 it sort of looks like a modified X-Wing fighter speeding by in the background! LMAO!!!!! Really though, does anyone know what that "wessel" was? (Yeah, that was a really weak TOS Chekvo joke.)

  • wtf! no shields?! they would have owned if they had shields!

  • I don't understand why the Federation had no shields in this entire battle. Why would they fight the Earth Alliance? Good effort but too many things gone amiss. Sovereigns would pwn any Earth Alliance ship yet this video depicts them as weak.

  • You should be working for Lucas. This is first rate!!!

  • If there is such a thing, I would say that this would win awards for the best space battle choreography. I am a big Star Trek fan, and have enjoyed watching Babylon 5. I think this is one of the best "What If?" space battles to date, despite the discrepancies in the technical aspects. As many other people have stated, it is most entertaining to see the dynamic actions of the fights without the politics thereof. Very fun to watch.

  • Who were federation fighting?

  • @spike378 If I am not mistaken, The Federation starships were engaging Babylon 5 Earth Alliance craft.

  • @KJOSCOT I thought I saw Babylon 5 in there, they needed Star Wars and Battlestar Gallactica, maybe even throw in Space 1999.

  • 2:58 ilmarinen :D he's a character from kalevala.

  • Beautiful!!!

  • 2:41 i thought i saw a face lol

  • The effects are amazing, very freaking well done.

Does anyone know where the fight is from?

  • F*ing awesome. Nice to see some original stuff for a change and not the same old DS9 battle scenes all badly strung together.

  • Alot of you folks do realise the star trek universe is "fictional" ? right? Just enjoy shit getting blown up ect. I love the trek, but i dont debate why some phasers are red ,yellow ect. Or how many isotonnes it takes to penetarte troys pussy. This is why star treks gone so shit. its supposed to be the future. If you can explain it all, wheres the fun & wonder?

  • I know why they did not use quantum torpedoes, it is because if the defiant and sovereign, and others had them, then the earth alliance would had become nothing more than space dust and the star trek universe would reign for the next 8000 years

  • Even though the movie that this is from was really stupid, this is quite honestly the BEST Trek(-like) battle scene ever, better than anything from any of the Trek movies or series. And it's quite old, from what I gather. The actual Trek writers and moviemakers should take a lesson from this. Spend more money on STORYDEVELOPMENT and WRITING, since this video proves you don't need such a hugeFX budget to have an awesome-looking action scene.

  • @HaBooBo0

Right on bro. if a few geeks + blue screen + 45 prntium 4 machines can make it! Why has trek got so bad? :( i mean eneterprise wtf is that all about?

  • @HaBooBo0 from which movie was this scene from?

  • @Bethlc81 I believe it was called "Star Wreck: In The Pirkinning", which was a huge parody of Star Trek.

  • @HaBooBo0

Yeah, I agree: explosions and shit are cool, but they can't really carry a film. To that point, imagine how cool "The Phantom Menace" might have been, had George Lucas took half his special effects budget and spent it on REAL actors.

  • @DumberEveryTime

There is a market for it. Look at the success of the Fast and Furious franchise. No acting geniuses there but fast cars and crashes sell tickets. I prefer a good plot and good acting to complement great cgi but the fact of the matter is that theater audiences now a days are less sophisticated and action blow em up films put butts in the seats.

  • Please remember that Federation Shields are capable of withstanding several shots from a planet killer (i.e. he Doomsday Machine). One good phaser or photon torpedo hit in the rotating section of an Omega Class Earthforce Destroyer and the destroyer would go 0 gravity. Plus they have no shields.

  • Where are the shield?

  • @CrypticWatcher In the movie that this is from ( I can't remember exactly what it's called, "The Pirkinning", or something like that),the federation-like starships found out that the shields didn't work in that alternate universe they were invading.

  • Isnt starfleet torpedo yeilds in the isoton range? I read somewhere that a photon torpedo had a 25 isoton yield

  • babylon five follows the energy principle eg light... the lighter the coulour weopons the les it does the darker= more :) hence why red earth aliance blue mimbar purple shadows its stated that they followed real phisics same as star trek in the original show

  • @skycaprob Star Trek is not based on colour/light ratio, a type XII phaser coloured yellow orange is more powerful than a dominion particle beam coloured purple

  • Actully these are just scenes from a show in finland call. "Star Wrek" Its a great show if you dont mind subtittle but this is far from star trek. After all there are twinkle blasters not phasers and light balls not photon torpedos. Look the show up i love it. The makers of this are working on some thing called iron sky. Im waiting for it. Its basicly nazi's from the moon sorta deal but yah. Star wreck not trek.

  • I find it funny that all these videos picture Babylon 5 on top, especially when they had inferior weapons, defences and well hyperspace is the only advantage they had they some how come on top in these videos. Babylon 5 people got worried at 5 megatons of weapons, where the standard Photon torpedo has a yield of about 75 Megatons, and a Quantum is more then double that, a tri-cobalt more then triple.

  • @GenSphinx It's just that you know nothing about the weapons on B5. A ancient Narn energy mine is 500 megatons (stated in the show). The Earth Alliance GOD platform fires a particle beam rated over 64 megatons a second and can level 70% of the earth's surface with a few shots (also stated on the show).

Shadow and Vorlon weapons are gigaton rated. The EA warlock class destroyer is armed with

mult-gigaton rated nuclear missiles and GOD particle beams. I wonder why no warlocks are in the video?

  • @GenSphinx Quantum torpedo can be up to a max of 200 isotons by federation standards, no more so if a photon torpedo has 25 isotons or 75 megatons then a maximum yield quantum torpedo is up to 600 megatons

  • @GenSphinx and dont forget the transphasic torpedo which is 20 times more than that

  • @CptPicard832 actually a transphasic torp has a lower yield than a quantum its just that it phases out past the enemys shields and hull into the centre of the ship where it explodes doing far more damage.

  • @TerranRedsky where did u get that from?? even if what ur saying is true 1 transphasic torp wouldent destroy a borg cube....ur argument is flawed, trans torp have massive yield far more then quantum

  • I don't get why there's a bunch of Delta Flyers coming-out with Starfuries behind. Were they stolen before? And nice touch having the Constitution-class tractor beam the disabled Sovereign-class into a collision with the enemy. Who needs to rescue allies when you can use them as cannon fodder? ;D

  • @RingSight91 LOL

  • Dear Admin, needs this Tag to fix the squish. From the Help page:

    Tag: yt:stretch=16:9

(Fixes anamorphic content by scaling to 16:9)

  • This isn't so much 'Star Trek Vs. Babylon 5' as it is Starfleet Vs. Earth Alliance...because those were the only ships that were seen. At no time were there any ships from the other member races. I'd say that a contest because the Interstellar Alliance and The United Federation of Planets, the Interstellar Alliance would come out on top. Open jumpgates on unsuspecting attacking ships and let them get lost in hyperspace!

  • @rjc0474 Then what do you call the White Stars and the Victory at the end? The White Star was a joint Minbari/Vorlon design, and the Victory was made by the Earth Alliance and the Minbari with some leftover Vorlon technology thrown in for good measure.

  • @Gnomleif

I appreciate a 'point vs. point' as much as the next geek, trust me...but not this time around. Yes, the White Star was a joint Minbari/Vorlon design. Yes, the Victory was made by the EA and Minbari with leftover Vorlon tech thrown in. You know what my point was...that there's more to 'Star Trek' and 'Babylon 5' universes than starship combat. It's 'Starfleet Vs. Interstellar Alliance' because it's about the tech and craft and not the politics.

  • Ya that's the thing, it shows if you have a powerful enough computer graphics system you can create anything, just as good as the big boys...plus you aren't held back by dumb ass movie or production companies and their politics...you can make stuff that the fans would really enjoy.

  • Man you have to give it to this Finnish production company, they made it look just as good as any thing Paramount could come up with...were talking movie quality here. They must really like Star Trek. This battle never gets old.

  • That was great. My compliments. How long did it take you to make this? Is this the sort of work that you do?

  • Awesome video, finnish nerds ftw.

When looking at this, it's so easy to imagine Picard and Janeway commanding their ships there. Dunno, perhaps Picard commandin the whole fleet? The two different schools:

-Mr. Tuvok, target their weapon systems and propulsion

    -vs

-Mr. Worf, all weapons ready, fire at will

    Mehmehmeh, cant stop watching.

  • where are the shields?

  • @maskscraper Apparently travelling to another universe disabled the shields.

(Its obviously a plot device, Star trek ships with shields vs Babylon 5 (even the minbari) would always result in the same thing=Complete and total annihilation of the Babylon 5 fleet)

  • @OfficialFearClan I agree, especially if the ships were outfitted with quantum torpedos

  • @OfficialFearClan such weapon without shield is more stupid than Kamikaze weapon

  • @maskscraper 100% power on lasers :D

  • @maskscraper Shields are at 10% Hull integrity at 80%! Fuck! Shields are ofline!

  • @maskscraper in the film they mention something about the shields not working i think they give it a trek style explination. i think its due to the fact that shields are hard to create (FX wise) and it places the babylon 5 ships at a huge disadvantage.

  • @TerranRedsky Boo Hoo Hoo. So what. In the Trek universe they also have what's known as tactical warp and shields. In other alternate dimensions the shields worked fine. You're gonna tell me that shields that can withstand 3 blasts of a weapon equivalent to 90 photon torpedos is NOT going to be effective against simple LASERS????? Not. even scotty describe a planet powered laser in the TOS as a "wee heater"

  • @gta87fb But the armour on the babylon 5 ships is far better than anything in the trek universe because the babylon universe doesnt have shields they compensate with armour. these two arn't really comparable its like star wars and star trek star trek uses antimatter star wars uses hypermatter star trek has warp star wars has hyperdrive. its all just a game of one up man ship. they want their franchise to be the biggest and the baddest.

  • WHO IS THE ENEMY?

  • @farias1280 Babylon 5

  • Awesome video! Music and everything, that ppor Soverign having a beam go through it, like a hot knife through butter :-D

  • 63 gay people have watched this :D

  • @nilsen171 And youre one of the fudgepackers.

  • @nilsen171 Guess you make # 64

  • One quantum torpedo would take out that entire station...not to mention that it didn't take the starfleet SHIELDS into account. :(

  • @weareallanimals78 the shields stopped working as soon as they got in the Babylon 5 universe.

    it's in the whole movie.

  • @Verliebt where can I see this in its entirety?

  • @weareallanimals78 the wole movie is called Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning. i think it was released on dvd. donät know where you could purchase it, but look for it you might even find as a download.

  • @Verliebt

i suggest downloading it ... as the official dvd release is a clearly altered version of this (!) the whole movie, as is the series, is supposed to be a spoof of star trek & babylon5, yet because of copyright-issues with paramount, the guys were required to change the st-ships to something simmilar but different to avoid being sued!

great THX to paramount for not understanding the concept of a spoof ... anyway it's still good on dvd, but kicks way more ass with the original ships
