Please do this:

Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings

Doing that will help with Facetime and MMS issues

TheJoshanjoy was right, iPod touch don't have a 3rd Gen model, the only model 8GB came in was the first Gen, 2nd Gen, and now the 4th Gen with the camera.

hostiledgk was asking about his iPod touch, which is really a 2nd Gen not 3rd Gen, and yungjeezus you are referring to the iPhone while the other two are talking about iPod touch.
