Thank you! Its a very slow work in progress. This was a mid day train, it made all of the stops. But there (at the time, there is one new station at 35th Street now) were no stations along this stretch of the line. I started filming at Gresham, which is the first stop south of LaSalle Street.
Un sentito ringraziamento a chi ha eseguito la ripresa del percorso da Englewood a La Salle Street Station.Credo sia esattamente il tragitto che il mio grandphater percorresse quando

It would be awesome to get an updated video from The Rock. Gresham has changed drasticaly since this video was posted and construction has started on the new 35th Street station.
The 35th Street station is supposed to be completed by fall.. As for Gresham, the new signals are rumored to be activated on January 16th. Tho I'm sure the tower will remain after that date.
Ohhhh sry I misunderstood. I dont know, the conductor opened it at Joliet, tho he said he was originally going to do it at Midlothian. I just got lucky I guess.
Yes, all of the Rock Island trains do. It used to be a major station years and years ago, but the neighbrohood is one of the worst in Chicago now. They havent used it as a station since. Now its only the junction where the NS crosses the Rock Islands.
ooh thanks.and i know englewood is bad, i want to become a chicago cop in the 7th district englewood.i will be taking the RI on monday, going downtown.
@NYPD12293 My cousin used to be a police sergeant in Englewood! My family grew up in Englewood, except me. We moved from Englewood to Roseland in 1962, 13 months after I was born. I grew up for 9+ years ion Roseland, then in Lansing IL.
I heard 79 MPH somewhere. I supposed they brought a GPS.

Excellent ! this sunny day light very happily counterbalances the greenish effect of the cab windshield on the video.
Lasalle st sta always seems deserted (I went there once in july '96, was looking all the same)

I know but how did you get into that car? Every time I ride that line, they have it closed off.

Ahhhh very interesting. I wish you best of luck.
This video is taken just after englewood. The end of Part 1 shows the crossing.
