Not sold that you hit a 146 with 1500 watts. We need a vid of proof. Especially in a trunk car, its nearly impossible. IDC if your amp is MONO or has 10 channels, all Monoblock means is its a 1 channel, not some magic boost given amp.

im running a 15" IA death row 3.5 cubes ported with a sundown saz1000d @ .5ohm 146.3 in a Lexus Is300...so 146.7.... i guess its possible u do have more cone area. Good choice in subs tho IA kicks ass, you should try the death row line i had a RF T1-15" and the IA dr put it to shame off the same power.

im not 100% sure so dont quote me but from what i understand it isnt as efficient to have your ports on the opposite side of the enclosure from the subs. to get the full effect of any enclosure(especially ported) you want the bass to be able to reflect off of the back of the enclosure before exiting through the port. (i could be wrong so dont get all whiny about it)

everyones got an OPINION even if they dont know what they are talkning about but i have the proof in the form of trophies. this car held the state record in missouri trunk class under 2000 watts @141.7db with the car sealed up. i hit my personal best of 147.6db in testing and in competition bump a 146.8 - .9 @ 48hz using 1749watts from this amp. tested, prooved, and recorded. I'm only sharing what it DOES.

does your score come from an actual competition that counts towards iasca, db drag, or any of the other formats? or just a local show? a termlab can be set to read like 10db higher than the actual output... just throwin that out there. but props for the choice in subs. IA is awesome stuff.

Subs that are facing backwards are strickly distortion. If you must face your subs backwards, then you have an incorrect build on your box.

The correct way to install subs is " facing forward in the passenger compartment of the vehicle, just as you see this guy has done here.

its hard to say... depends on the model of car,series of the subs,size of amp(amplifier BRAND is important cause most OVER RATE so the power is MUCH LOWER than you think)style/type of box, port direction,proper power to the amps,peak Hz of the box,etc. you didnt mention the size amp youve got so i dont know how many watts your pushin. i would have to recommend KICKER amp for providing instant power,reliability,protection. KICKER power is HARDCORE.

nice. sounds like it should be smokin loud. to find out yo spl reading. find the peak frequency of the box.(my sunfire here hit 146.2db @ 48hz under 2000 watts in november show). then take it to a show or go to yo audio dealer and have it mic'd. most store bought spl meters range from 120-130db max. you prolly be wastin money to buy one since yo prolly louder than that. but youll just have to check it out.

no i did not upgrade the alternator. ive only installed this battery. i need the KINETIK 1400. from what i hear the battery size(800,1400,1600,2400)should be as close to the size amp and wattage output(750,1500,4000 watts)ALL THE TIME BEING CAREFUL THAT A 16V BATTERY WILL FRY A 12V SYSTEM AND ALTERNATOR. this battery im using is for a 12v system so i am not damaging the alt, i am relieving it from the stress of my system, while continuing all of its other tasks with ease.
