How do u download the home brew channel

does the game disc HAVE TO be in the Wii? My wii can't read any disks (which is why I'm here). I DO NOT want to get another Wii and start over, just because it can't read disks. That's just a greedy b***h move for Nintendo, which will crush the respect of their business. And don't get my started on what may happen to my Homebrew and WiiWare games.

So is their any way for to transfer copy-protected memory files and WiiWare games onto a new Wii, without needing the disk to be read?

@2071Johnny I'm experiencing your same basic problem. My wii is dying on me (it's not dead yet luckly) and I'd like to transfer my copy protected saves on a new one, or better yet on a wii U when it comes out. Did you find any "legal" way to do so or are we shit out of luck?

Well the good news if I got a new Wii, and no disk is required to extract save files. However, the bad news for me is that my new wii has no Gamecube controller port (or ability to read those disks), and for some odd reason I can't re-install NiGHTS: Journey of Dreams. I HAVE to get my Wii fixed. $85 away......

@2071Johnny How did you manage with wiiware? Also, did you have any copy-protected saves? How did you bring those to your new wii?

I didn't. I still upset over my old Wii, so I'm not too enthusiastic about jumping right into the new one (with no Gamecube compatibility). I can still play my WiiWare games on the old Wii. But for everyone else, I think WADs comes into play (it's somewhat risky, but just don't install anything you didn't already buy).

I'm confused... I don't know how on earth MKWii can 'Copy' because for my Wii, it can only erase the file, not copy or anything.

Yes, every app for the Homebrew channel works with 4.3, so long as you have the Homebrew Channel.

Where can I find the boot.elf for both the installer and extractor? I keep hearing that I need the twilight hack for this.

Also, is it THAT risky to use the installer/extractor because of what they say about permanent changes to the NAND. That's also another thing I'm worried about.

@13sako If you receive a "-1" error code, try making sure you have a non-SDHC memory card inserted.

@13sako If you get that error that means you got the wrong SD card.It doesnt support SDHC!

Thanks for the advise. I did, however, recover my game and at least three others. I always keep backups of everything, and in more than one place by the way. I have two SD cards and I keep one set on my desktop in a separate folder. I can play any of those saved games I want now. I have four AC:CF towns that I can play at any time. I found out what the problem was. Snowmen. Can't add them to games. Thanks, tho.

Got Actoolkit. Changed inventory, money in ABD, etc. Then today made changes to terrain and when I went to install, the game stalls out. So I uninstalled the saveinstall and saveextractor, and reloaded them on my SD card for homebrew and tried it again. Same thing, black screen with bus in the corner just in a loading loop but never opens the game. What could be wrong. Worked fine all day today and now nothing. Do you think uninstalling and reinstalling homebrew would help?

this is good you can download for ex: super smash saved game 100% complete from a site like torrentreactor and transfer it to your wii ..the system does not allow u to transfer some games to sd for some reason
