Steve is an excellent teacher. I took lessons with Steve for almost two years. His mental approach to teaching is what makes the difference. Glad to see that Steve is still jazzin'-out.
It's incredible to watch and listen to these three Masters on their own instruments meld into one performing unit so seamlessly, they know the tune inside and out which allows them to be so in synch with one another and anticipate so well what the other will play --This is a magical piece!--Thanks for posting!! --This is one of my Favorites Steve!!
Nice to hear the musicality and music in all your playing where technique is used as a means to create beautiful music (versus only flashy technique at the expense of the music).
But I think there may be a genuine conflict or confusion as to what is believed to be a good jazz player... Sometimes the technical flash can lure or convert listeners (as well as players) to the dark side and they forgo trusting their feelings. But in my quest for a technical upgrade, I'm trying to study how those "speed only" technicians are able to go so blazingly fast... seemingly without any physical limitation..
World Class playing, doing my all time favorite tune-!!
Please keep me posted where I can come catch this trio...
John U-R absolutely amazing, with how you get around on that horn, so fluid... Steve, U-R the most- hard working guitarist I know, keeping that whole tune movin' and groovin'. Vibes, with the wonderful 4 part harmony was sweet and great ideas, love this Trio-!!
Excellent, excellent, excellent.

Well said! That is an important message for every musician to read. The MUSIC should always come before the EGO.

Man, I don't know what was smoked more—that vibe player's solo or his dragon t-shirt!
